I was in Oklahoma in 78 or so when there was a huge raid on a local plant and a couple dozen folks got deported. It was the first time it registered with me. And by the way, it was applauded.
I've preached the gospel of construction for decades. I like to say that if you want a building in LA you can't out source it to India. I like to say that.
You can in source cheap illegal labor to depress wages though. Its why its been an issue for me since Bill Clinton and I were against illegal immigrants in the 90's. It was Ukrainians in the Seattle tile industry at that time. Mobsters running company stores out of a basement basically getting slave labor.
These savings are not passed along to the consumer. They go straight to the pockets of GOP and now Democrat donors.
The social costs have risen dramatically as well.
And no, I'm not afraid to lose my job and end up in a basement company store. I want good wages for Americans in a field that doesn't require 200 grand of debt to get a worthless degree
