Kobe would be first team all decade for the oughts so to be even third team for the next decade is pretty good
-
Probably the player of the decade for the oughts right? Either him or Duncan.RaceBannon said:Kobe would be first team all decade for the oughts so to be even third team for the next decade is pretty good
Well when did Shaq drop off the cliff? I guess he might be in discussion as well. -
Shaq won his rings from 2000 to 2005 but he was more dominant in the 90's I think
By 05 with Miami he was an other to Wade
Kobe probably is #1 for the oughts -
This is top of my head so I might be overlooking someone obvious.RaceBannon said:Shaq won his rings from 2000 to 2005 but he was more dominant in the 90's I think

10's - LeBron
00's - Kobe
90's - MJ
80's - The ultimate debate, Bird or Magic? I'll go with AIDs.
70's - Kareem
60's - Russell
Before that - NOC -
LMA over Dirk is chinsulting
-
Melo and Blake Griffin over Dirk is crazy. Even Anthony Davis. Dirk had like 13 good years in the 2000’s. He only played 2 or 3 years in the 90’s. He won a MVP, Finals MVP, probably had 5+ 1st team NBA’s. This list is trash.NEsnake12 said:LMA over Dirk is chinsulting

Just realized Duncan is not on this either. The guy threw together the first names he thought of.
Edit: Never mind, I’m an idiot. I was thinking all 2000’s, not 2010 on. -
The fact that the casual NBA fan thinks Kobe is a top 5 player from the 2010s is ridiculous.
It's the same with Melo. The stats today that show the legit worth of a basketball player don't look quite as kindly on guys who made their living on contested twos -
Even just looking at the 2010s, Dirk’s playoff run in 2011 alone qualifies him for 3rd teamRoadDawg55 said:Just realized Duncan is not on this either. The guy threw together the first names he thought of.

The third team is better than the second team. CP3, Westbrick, Melo, and Griffin can all fuck off. All Loser squad.

@TheKobeStopper weeps. -
Jesus did @puppylove_sugarsteel make this list

The Third Team would destroy the second team. Even with old Kobe.BleachedAnusDawg said:The third team is better than the second team. CP3, Westbrick, Melo, and Griffin can all fuck off. All Loser squad.
No way on Melo. Melo, fuck no.
Dirk should be in over Aldridge. -
Tossing out the year he blew his achilles, Kobes still averaged 24.4 ppg in the 10's.jhfstyle24 said:The fact that the casual NBA fan thinks Kobe is a top 5 player from the 2010s is ridiculous.

Even when you include that year (and you should) it's still 24.2.PurpleThrobber said:

I think the argument is he only played 325 regular season games in the 10's and only 22 playoff games.
I'm a Kobe stan but I can see arguing he doesn't belong in here at all.
I'm just saying he belongs ahead of Melo. -

Yes, this. He didn't play enough in the 10s for me.dnc said:e

Melo is ridiculously overrated and shouldn't be on any decade 2nd team. -
I remember when Melo did his one year of college and won the natty then got to the playoffs with Denver while Lebron went straight to Cleveland and missed the playoffs the first two years
Today on First Take
Buy or sell, Melo is better than Lebron -
Very odd that you're talking about basketball rankings in a thread titled, "Discus"

Kobe’s place is fine. There are multiple other issues with these teams but Kobe didn’t play enough this decade to be higher.
