Most Democrats and Republicans want to keep illegal crossings criminal but not enforced. The practice until recently was just to deport immediately those caught sneaking in. It was Trump that decided to go with a draconian approach that grossly spiked the people in jail. He backed off on this. Still, no real politician who plans to get elected wants to just throw the fucking border open. Stop saying "open borders" and also stop saying "no collusion, no obstruction." All of that is false
