Honestly it's the most retarded ad campaign I've ever seen
Even hondo thought it was stupid -
Poor deej has no idea how this stuff works and unfortunately his "news" source lies to him.
Procter & Gamble Co’s (PG.N) quarterly revenue and adjusted profit beat Wall Street expectations on Tuesday, sending shares to a record-high -
Procter & Gamble reported Tuesday that it wrote down the value of its Gillette brand by $8 billion.
Despite Procter & Gamble’s write-down of its struggling Gillette brand, executives expressed confidence about the future of the shaving business.
P&G reported an impairment charge of $8.0 billion in the fiscal fourth quarter, resulting in a net loss of $5.24 billion. The one-time, noncash charge was to adjust the carrying values of Gillette’s goodwill and intangible assets.
Come on Scotty, you can get that head a little further up your ass than that.

The only think softer than that ad campaign is thinking it cost them billions.

Jeezus, its either libs like scotti can't read or believe the rest of us can't. Either way it makes them look stupid.SFGbob said:Procter & Gamble reported Tuesday that it wrote down the value of its Gillette brand by $8 billion.

- Executives attributed the write-down to currency devaluations and lower shaving frequency.
- The consumer products giant has also faced increased competition from disruptors like Dollar Shave Club and Harry’s.

Blob and lying Atl to the rescue! Gillette is not as valuable today as it was in 2005 because the shaving market is shrinking and direct to consumer brands like Dollar Shave Club are undercutting them, not because some ad hurt the feelings of conservatard snowflakes. Pretty smart of P&G to write down Gillette's value to 49 billion as should set it up for success going forward which is why their stock hit a record today.
In its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report, the company said Gillette has consistently generated “significant” earnings and cash flow and continues to be a strategic business with growth opportunities.
The consumer products giant gave two reasons for the write-down. First, the company said that currency devaluations since the carrying values were first established in 2005 played a significant role.
P&G’s second reason for the write-down is the market contraction of blades and razors, primarily in developed markets. -
Dumbest fucking ad I’d ever seen. The fact that so many we applauding it was nauseating. The scene were the dad breaks up two boys wrestling at the cookout exemplified the pussificsation of America.
-
I switched to Harry's. If you leftard pussies think that the woke campaign was good for sales then you definitely have the stupid vote wrapped up.
-
So they are really doing great and the $8B write-off was a good thing and nothing more than a flesh wound, Got it. I knew you could put your head even further up your ass Scotty.GDS said:Blob and lying Atl to the rescue! It doesn't need to hurt them for it to be a failure. If you launch a controversial (and fucking retarded) ad campaign, its supposed to HELP you.
How many people bought more gillette because of it?
Zero you say? Wow what a great ad campaign! -
It wasn't a write off, it was a write down. Fucking idiot.SFGbob said:

I'm sure they only spent a hundred million on that Ad campaign. According to Scotty hemorrhaging cash, especially cash spent on a shitty Ad campaigns that turns off some of your customer base is a good thing.Pitchfork51 said:It doesn't need to hurt them for it to be a failure. Stupid pro-feminazi ads and 10-cartridge refills for $25 will get you the middle finger from a customer or two.

Scot rivals hondo for pathological lying
-
Yes, if you're a fucking moron who thinks Gillette did great this past quarter you'd probably think that.GDS said:

A write-down is performed in accounting to reduce the value of an asset to offset a loss or expense. A write-down becomes a write-off if the entire balance of the asset is eliminated and removed from the books altogether
Next time you can fly speck my spelling Scott. -
GDS is defending the ad speaks volumes.

This thread is a case study in stupidity. Gillette probably lost money on their ill advised "feminism" campaign. But anyone who thinks that played anything more than a negligible role in an $8B goodwill impairment is financially illiterate.dnc said:The only think softer than that ad campaign is thinking it cost them billions.
This is the most pub we've ever given a @DJDuck post, and we should all be ashamed. -
Look at Scotty the stupid fucking Kunt give this an up arrow when he started this thread claiming that Gillette is doing great.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Their shitty campaign played a role in them losing sales. How big? I don't know but something tells me that if they could ask for a do over on that Ad Campaign they'd do it. -
Funny how someone just knows the reasons for a financial loss without any evidence. Maybe you can predict the Presidential Race. I’m not eluding to the fact this is the only reason but it sure greased the skids at least. You don’t know anything more than I do or the man on the street. I will bet that anyone talking about this at least references this Einstein.

Gillette is facing a lot of competition. Insulting your customers is not smart.
The reason they ran this add is because they thought it would appeal to millennials.
So basically they thought it would increase their sales but there was no thought that it would decrease sale like some of the know it alls here.😂😂 -
more strawman ass fuckery from Blob! Gillette is doing so shitty that upon announcing their results their parent companies stock hit a record...SFGbob said:

The evidence for their write down is right in the earnings announcement...or as Deej would label it "without any evidence." The skids were greased in 2011 when dollar shave club and then later Harry's came in and undercut them losing a ton of money in the process in order to acquire market share along with the shaving market shrinking overall by 11%.DJDuck said:Funny how someone just knows the reasons for a financial loss without any evidence. And what is that evidence exactly Lyin’ Scott?

Wow, it's almost as if a parent company can't being doing well despite one under-performing area of their entire business.GDS said:

Microsoft's money pit: Surface has lost $1.2B
CEO Nadella will unveil new tablets Tuesday, but can he stop the bleeding?
What's it like being a mouthy dumbfuck Scott? -
“While competition against upstart razor companies such as Harry’s and Dollar Shave Club have contributed to the decline of the more traditional Gillette, it cannot be ignored that the company’s embracing of more controversial and “progressive” stance in their recent ad campaigns was also a factor.”
