Bellevue detectives have arrested a 36-year-old Bellevue woman for promoting prostitution at an upscale brothel in the 300 block of 108th Ave NE in downtown Bellevue. The woman was captured with $5100 dollars cash in her wallet, detectives say the money is proceeds of prostitution.

The arrest came after detectives contacted another woman inside the brothel who claimed she was being forced to work there against her will. The woman says she was in the United States on a temporary VISA and sought work through groups on the social media site WeChat. After working for a short time, the woman says she tried to leave but wasn’t allowed to until she found her replacement. She says she was forced to see as many as ten customers a day, bringing in up to $2,000 a day.
