These camps (at least the highlights) are so dumb. Most of the routes the WR's run are 2 and 3 moves per route and are useless. Time for some real football.dnc said: -
I was asleep on this guy until today. For some reason I thought he was like a jaydon mickens type. Fuck I was wrong. I will be absolutely thrilled if he commits.
-
He abused Kelee on that route
-
My dick. It is hard.
-
Went back and watched his film, a couple things standout:
1. Ball skills. Kid has hands on both sides of the ball. One handed grabs at the camps are one thing, doing it in a game is another. He pulls it off multiple times. Best highlight reel hands for a UW receiver recruit I can remember since Kasen (nowhere near Kasen's explosive leaping skills though).
2. Route running. As others have noted, he looks like a slot receiver with a variety of subtle moves to get open. Reminds me of Doug Baldwin* a bit in that he can shake people on a route very well but isn't making anybody miss after the catch or in the open field. His KOR/PR highlights are pretty sad. But without the ball in his hands he can definitely sell he's going one way and then go the other.
Kid's not a blazer, isn't especially strong and he's not going to make a bunch of people miss with the ball in his hands, but can get open and he can catch which are the two most important attributes for a WR. I'd rather have Gary Bryant as the slot in this class but LVBS wouldn't be a disappointment at all. He'd be a great compliment to McMillan, Odunze and Sawyer.
*Not saying he's as good as ADB, don't twist -
Are we really taking 4 WR? Bummerdnc said:Went back and watched his film, a couple things standout:

Are we sleeping on this kid? Feels like we’re sleeping on this kid...

He's good, but if you ever need evidence of Rivals overrating kids who go to their camps, this is it
-
Except I went and checked and he hasn’t moved up at all hahaha.Neighbor2972 said:He's good, but if you ever need evidence of Rivals overrating kids who go to their camps, this is it
The WR numbers have always been the fucked up thing about these next two classes. Of course it’s gonna open up but that had to impact offering Gee so fucking late, not budging with Tre’shaun, and telling LV to slow down. Gonna be real chinteresting to see what happens next. -
I really like him. Not a specimen, but a really good, smart football player. There is a reason everyone has offered him.
-
I'm scared. Was happy till I saw the thread lately... DWWH?
-
Christ, even @GrandpaSankey can see those images.
-
Gary Bryant is prolly ahead of him on the board right now.Canadawg said:

Ya we wanted him. I'd put him as an Aaron fuller type. He is a fantastic route runner with great hands. Why do we think he is no longer in play?
-
He's still very much in play. A likely Dawg if UW takes him. But spots are getting tight and Rome Odunze and Gary Bryant or next in line for the final spots.Penace said:Ya we wanted him. we are going to fuck around trying to get Bryant and end up not getting him or LV.
-
That seems likely to me too. It's not a huge blow if it happens though, with two very good to great receivers committed and another (Odunze) seeming likely. I think UW is being opportunistic recruiting all these receivers. It's not out of necessity for numbers.BeerThirty said:we are going to fuck around trying to get Bryant and end up not getting him or LV.

I don't see how taking 4 WR makes sense. Even if you don't think Sawyer will play WR we already have plenty on roster and are in on some big names next year.
-
And that's okay.BeerThirty said:we are going to fuck around trying to get Bryant and end up not getting him or LV.

Because we fee good about Odunze and are willing to call it with Jalen, Rome, and Sawyer.BeerThirty said:we are going to fuck around trying to get Bryant and end up not getting him or LV.

Don't sleep on Gee.

Ok, let’s break this down.
1. We graduate four in Pounds, Fuller, Chico, and Opera Singer.
2. That leaves 8: Chincredible, Jones, Bynum, Spiker, Ozzy, Lowe, Puka, and Taj. (Shout-out Ballz for the Bynum catch.)
3. Bringing in Jalen, Sawyer, and Rome (fingers crossed) puts us at 10.
4. In 2021, we’re 50/50 w/ Emeka and Franklin, and would probably lead for Alexander and Tinae, if offered. (I don’t see us getting Beaux Collins.)
5. LV is 247 4-star and a Rivals 5-star recruit (edit: He’s a Rivals 4-star. Shout-out @bananasnblondes). Based on this breakdown, our WR corps needs, his interest level, his talent, I say we push for his commitment. Of course the wild card here is GBJr, but nothing gives me the impression we’d land him unless Eason wins the Heisman and we win a playoff game (please Dawgfather, please). -
Hes not a rivals 5 star. That was a clickbait articleBeno4Life said:Ok, let’s break this down.

And you gotta think Chin graduates and transfers somewhere he can play next off season. But you forgot Bynum so it would still be 7 if that happens. I like those numbers. It's about quality at WR, not quantity. It's going to be fucking amazing having no more JAG receivers playing for this team. The coaches will be forced to play the talent because there won't be any veteran JAGs left.Beno4Life said:Ok, let’s break this down.

I think the coaches are confident they get Rome and are going all or nothing on Bryant. If Bryant wants to be a Dawg... great. If not, we are more than happy with 3. Gee is the unknown.
