We actually produce upwards of 12 million BPD these days and growing as the Permian is ramped back up.
We includes Canada and Venezuela after WE invade there (see above for additional motivation). You also realize the Suez Canal has been recently upgraded and that route is available for Saudi oil. We don't need the straits. The Brits and Europe do far more than we do.
