We should get Ryan Bowman to talk to himMeek said:LOL... first the top West Coast kids don't want to go to college on the West Coast and now they don't even want to go to fucking high school out here.
shut it all down. -
The first play is Gary Bryant versus Elias Ricks and Bryant blows past Ricks with ease. Ricks is overrated. WDWHA.

Lol Kevin King gets taken with the second pick of the 2nd round but the first offer Jimmy Lake gives isn’t good enough for us.StrongArmCobra said:The first play is Gary Bryant versus Elias Ricks and Bryant blows past Ricks with ease. Ricks is overrated. WDWHA.

Happens all the time. Early offers don't always mean we would take the kid later in the process. Jeremiah Criddell, Josh Delgado, Noah Nelson, Daniyel Ngata, etc. I wouldn't want Ricks over Paster or Hector.LaMichael_Corleone said:

So if for some random reason Ricks decided to flip to UW tomorrow, you wouldn't take his committment until you see what Paster and Hector want to do? Plan B recruit huh?StrongArmCobra said:

As shitty a recruiting coordinator as Bhonapha is I'd still keep him over SAC.NEsnake12 said:StrongArmCobra said:

He also tried to imply that we didn't want Ngata. In a WR class that was busted before we snagged Puka.LaMichael_Corleone said:

I’ve been following recruiting since before SAC was born. Back when you’d have to search for the Best in the West, pay Don James’ son in law, or wait until Porn Stache told you who you signed at the MAC dinner. Elias Ricks is as good of a CB as the West Coast has ever produced.
I don’t give a fuck what he did in shorts, I’ve seen what he did at Mater Dei. Gets thrown at twice in a game, takes both back for TDs. But he’s not as good as a WR in a drill, so he’s a pass. -
And what makes SAC’s comments worse is that as far as being a Jimmy Lake cover 3 CB, this is his fantasy prospect. More than Kelee or Isaac Taylor-Stuart.
-
Lol imagine going to a school that doesn’t play your style of defense that you thrive in just for the clout and a shitty bag when you have moneyLaMichael_Corleone said:And what makes SAC’s comments worse is that as far as being a Jimmy Lake cover 3 CB, this is his fantasy prospect. He's not that good. He doesn't have smooth hips. I'd take most of the corners already on our roster over him. He'll be a 3rd round pick. Isaac Taylor Stuart is struggling to win a starting job at USC by the way and they have no depth. The 5-star Cali corners are always overrated. Biggie Marshall says hi.
-
If SAC ever played football, or cut up film, or anything remotely connected to football he’d know that for a DB the number one thing is recognize and react. That’s why guys who run 4.6s can cover 4.3 WRs.LaMichael_Corleone said:And what makes SAC’s comments worse is that as far as being a Jimmy Lake cover 3 CB, this is his fantasy prospect. I thought Troy Hill would be a major bust, ran 4.72 or some shit when Oregon was timing his as a freshman. But he had great instincts, gets NFL money, and that’s just a natural thing that happens in your brain: seeing where the guy is going and where the ball can go. Adjusting the body to prevent that. You have to meet a minimum threshold of speed, but as a CB its all about reaction. Ricks has that. Good luck to him in the SEC or at USC, so - break a leg, etc. -
He doesn't have that. His hip turn is slow and so is his change of direction. Guys like Byron Murphy and Elijah Molden have it. He doesn't. We'll see tho. No sense in arguing about it now while he's still in high school. Holla at me in a couple years.RatherBeBrewing said:

I’ve seen Elijah Molden play in HS, several times. I lived a mile away from his family. I’ve seen him in the state championship destroy my Rams from close up - while he was on offense, making above average kids look like they couldn’t move. He could become a great CB, he has the athleticism. But that’s not what we’re talking about. Some guys have elite talent, and you can see it like a shiny gold coin in a pile of shit. It doesn’t mean they’ll be college or NFL stars, but they have a damn good chance of making it happen if they try. I don’t fawn over 17 year olds too much, but I’m not dumb enough to not want one of those shiny gold coins on my side.StrongArmCobra said:

You can have him. Oh wait, Oregon has no chance anyways so you're writing novels about him for no reason.RatherBeBrewing said:

I now believe SAC has a split personality. One personality is pretty accurate, very rational, and has good football knowledge. The other is a clown show that refuses to ever take the L.

This. Now when I read a SAC post i get a visual picture of James McAvoy from the movie "Split".Swaye said:I now believe SAC has a split personality. One personality is pretty accurate, very rational, and has good football knowledge. The other is a clown show that refuses to ever take the L.

We can only write novels about things we? have a chance at? In that case you probably should stop writing about the University of Washington, Seattle Campus.StrongArmCobra said:

Ballz is half on point and half retarded but this board is more entertaining when he’s off his meds, I will say that

Uh... What are you talking about? Ballz is super level headed and consistent with his opinions and knowledge. For example, he's clear as day about his opinion on wanting elite talent over "hidden gems" in the Jackson LaDuke Thread over in the Duck Refuge:
"Oh and did you hear we got Myles Murao!? Fuck your hidden gems bitch! We get all the elite lineman and y'all can have our scraps! UW is going to be the REAL SEC of the West! We're the big boys on the block now bitch!
"Oh that's right, you don't want to anymore because UW is spanking that ass on the trail and get all the best lineman. Losers lose. 4th in the North gets you "hidden gem" lineman."
"Outside of UW and Stanford, everyone else in the Pac-12 is forced to find hidden gem 3-star lineman that need to be developed because the depth of the O-line talent is so weak this class out West.
"HAHAHAHAHAH Oregon fucking sucks! Enjoy a class of 20-22 guys and 80% of them being 3-stars! WE JUST GOT JALEN FUCKING MCMILLAN!!!! FUCK YEEEAAAHHHHHH BITCH!!! Keep scraping up those HIDDEN GEMS while we take all the ELITE TALENT!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!"
As you can see, it's a clear and consistent opinion. Elite talent only, no hidden gems needed at UW!
Oh, uh, and, uh.... Ignore the first page of the Trey Paster thread where he mentions how he loves Paster and he's a hidden gem:
