Great choice SFJ. This is such a terrific film.

Final trench charge in Galipoli, despite the melodrama.
Opening scene of Inglorious Basterds.
Opening long take of Boogie Nights.
First meeting with Hannibal Lecter, and the basement final scene from Silence of Lambs.
Although the movie never grabbed me, Dunkirk has several amazing scenes from cinematography standpoint.
Children of Men has two amazing long takes.
Opening wedding setup from Godfather, but could include whole damn thing. B-side, taking Sonny to the undertaker.
Shallow performance from Star is Born. Fuck off, it’s brilliant.
-
Last 20 minutes or so of Children of Men. Nothing touches that.
Bank robbery from Heat.
Scene in Legends of the Fall where Brad Pitt's character rides toward the cliff by his brother's grave and pulls up at the last second.
Aside from being the greatest movie ever, The Big Lebowski actually has some amazing cinematography. Too many scenes to name.
Ditto with Amelie. Tons of amazing camera moves, and there isn't a movie with better attention to color.
Pretty much all of Days of Thunder. I mean, come on. -
FM for leaving off Heat. Top 10 shit right there.
-
+ two scenes where Munny hears Ned’s been killed then goes to saloon in Unforgiven.GrundleStiltzkin said:Final trench charge in Galipoli, despite the melodrama.

I will probably do a Greatest movie of all time tournament. PM me if you want to be on the seeding committee.

Children of men inside the car POV with the motorcycles firing at them is amazing.
The ending of The proposition (entire movie actually)
Not a movie, but the 1-take scene from True Detective with undercover coked out micconoughey extracting the white supremacist biker through the hood BLEW MY MIND.
I'm a film geek so I could keep going, throw me on the committee @YellowSnow -
Phoebe Cates in Fast Times at Ridgemont High

If you’re a movie geek, you probably have seen, but there’s a making-of on YouTube for the Children of Men car long take. -

Lot of great ones in Quiz Show. Smoking hot Mira Sorvino questioning Northern Exposure guy's manhood is great. But this scene:

From the early Brad Pitt oeuvre bracket, A River Runs Through it. These two scenes coupled together, lands hard.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnz7BQ7lxJQ

Dark horse, this fight scene from Upgradehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZxn9md_aZI

The closing scenes of Arrival pay off big time and turn a very good movie into an amazing film. No clips in case of spoilers.

Good call on River Runs Through It. Most of us don't like to admit, but that movie will speak to everyone on some level as it relates to family. Pitt was very good in that movie. Everybody was. One of Redford's best.GrundleStiltzkin said:Lot of great ones in Quiz Show. Smoking hot Mira Sorvino questioning Northern Exposure guy's manhood is great. But this scene:

Keep thinking of more. This scene is 1A/1B with Inglorious Bastards for my favorite Tarantino written scenes.

Family-friendly division, have to give credit to Pixar’s brilliance with the opening scene from Up. No dialogue, no real actors, but one of the few movie scenes that ever made me cry:

This is the single greatest scene in movie history. There will be no argument about it. Period.
And if you can't recite it from memory, we can't be friends.

Nice knowing you, Throbber. I didn't see Caddyshack until much later and just don't enjoy it at level as most everyone else. No judgement, you be you.PurpleThrobber said:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X48G7Y0VWW4

Many good ones in this thread. Casting my vote in for the Ride of the Rohirrim in Return of the King

[referring to Lee Harvey Oswald and mass murderer Charles Whitman]
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Do any of you people know where these individuals learned how to shoot?... Private Joker.
Private Joker: Sir. In the Marines, Sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: In the Marines. Outstanding. Those individuals showed what one motivated Marine and his rifle can do. And before you ladies leave my Island, you will all be able to do the same thing.
