Mason West, 6'4, 240 lb, 3* 2020 TE, La Habra, CA (Committed)

Doesn't bode well for going runner runner at TE.

Yurosek seems to me like a Stanford guy. There has to some possibility he’s a Buck or Sam.
Taylor seems like a less than 50% chance too, especially with this new offer going out. -
Lol Yurosek is all dawg.
We want 3 TEs and Kole Taylor is going to Boulder or LSU. -
Per Ruth West visited for our camp, has family in Seattle.

He was at our camp and probably played really good so we offered him. It doesn't mean we're missing on Taylor or Yurosek, yet
-
It does mean we can stop with the "D'Andre Rogers just wasn't good enough to get an offer, we like these three better than him, it wasn't about anything off the field" charade.Neighbor2972 said:He was at our camp and probably played really good so we offered him. Could Ben Yurosek be this years Connor Weddington? UW still hopes to get Yurosek to commit to them before signing with the Cardinal.RoadDawg55 said:Yurosek seems to me like a Stanford guy. There has to some possibility he’s a Buck or Sam.

Biggins CB to UW
“I was Facetiming with coach Petersen and coach (Jordan) Paopao,” West said. “I was trying to stay calm but when they told me I had the offer, man, I was so excited. Even now, I can’t stop smiling thinking about it.
“This has been a few months in the making. Originally they wanted to bring in two tight ends and already have one committed. They told me they want to bring in three tight ends now because they’re confident they’re going to lose one tight end to the Draft and don’t have a lot of depth. I knew I was high on their list and I’m feeling great right now.”
West said coach Paopao has been talking to him for months now and the two have developed a good relationship.
“I like coach Paopao a lot, he’s a great guy,” West said. “He came and visited me at my school during the spring and then I attended the Washington Satellite Camp out here at Whittier College. That was the first time coach Petersen got to see me and I felt like I had a really good camp and did well.
“Coach Paopao had already told me they loved my film so I was hopeful an offer would come. I took a visit to Washington a few months ago and loved it there. I love the campus and the football facilities are insane. I have a lot of family in Washington so it’s a great opportunity. My mom could visit anytime and stay with family there so it’s safe to say I have a lot of interest in the Huskies right now.”
West has had a very good off-season and looked strong at several camps and 7v7 events. He’s a big tight end, a willing blocker but has really improved as a pass catcher and route runner. He’s running better then we have ever seen him and he’s able to catch the football through contact and make plays down the field.
“I feel great, I’m healthy and feeling like I’m playing my best football right now,” West said. “I never played pop warner, my freshman year was my first year ever playing and then I missed my whole sophomore year when I broke my collarbone.
“So last year was really my first year of playing big time football and I feel myself getting better and better. I’m going to be making a summer decision and could honestly commit at any time. I’m going to talk things over with my family this weekend and then we’ll see what happens.” -
He will be our next commit

I'm sure he'll be a third round pick. -

Late bloomer ya say?
We do well with those guys -
Yeah it's easy to talk yourself into him after you read the write up. I can't ever get too mad at them offering after they saw a kid at the camp because that's how we got #MyHampton and Gaaaaaaaaaaard. Our evals are elite.backthepack said:Late bloomer ya say?

this will be epic

I wanted Taylor badly but I'm not worried about TE. This kid will probably be a good player
-
Can we cut Poapoa lose now?
-
Fuck that! Kole Taylor is better so get fucking Kole Taylor you fucks.
-
If we lose Yurosek too, then yes. But I think we get him.KevininTacoma said:Can we cut Poapoa lose now?

LSU doesn't throw the ball.
Penn State doesn't put TE's in the league like UW does and they don't have QB talent lined up like we do.
Colorado is Colorado.
Get Kole Taylor or get the fuck out. It's not a hard sell and I'm sick of this hidden gem bullshit.
Redman was a great start but Paopao's fat ass didn't sign a TE last class so that means we need TWO elite TE's this class. Not one elite one and some hidden gem JAG. -
Why do we continue to enable Paopao and Gregory?
-
All I'm taking away from this offer now is Bryant ain't coming back.Neighbor2972 said:

PaoPao sucks, but to be disappointed because he got Yurosek and Redman would be stupid.LaMichael_Corleone said:Why do we continue to enable Paopao and Gregory?

Wasn't Paopao the only coach that didn't get more than a 1 year extension?
