https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-the-lakers-forgot-about-creating-cap-space-in-the-anthony-davis-trade-164633838.html
In the immediate aftermath of the Los Angeles Lakers’ trade for Anthony Davis this past weekend, just about everyone assumed that the deal would be structured in such a manner that they could add a third max-salaried superstar in free agency.
Except, when it comes to these Lakers, assumptions are extremely dangerous.
According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the Lakers did not realize an accounting error that left them without max cap space until after they agreed to their trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, and then called back in an attempt to rectify the mistake.
As it stands now, the Pelicans have not relented. And why would they when doing so would hinder their own ability to build a competitive roster over the next month?

I saw that earlier in the week. I didn't read the article you linked but it was something like the difference between $27 and $33MM based on the agreement date.
Sad. -
My local sources are telling me this is way overblown and not necessarily the case

If it keeps Jimmy Butler out of town, it will be a blessing in disguise.RaceBannon said:My local sources are telling me this is way overblown and not necessarily the case

I'm out if Jimmy is in

I met Jimmy Butler's "adopted" father through work a while back. It was just mentioned in passing his connection to Jimmy Butler and he didn't go too much into detail about the relationship so I looked it up afterward. Sounds like it was sort of a Blindside type of story where this guys family took in a young and homeless Jimmy Butler. Knowing his roots gave me a little more appreciation for how far Butler has come.salemcoog said:

The ESPN coverage of this draft is borderline unwatchable.

I’d compare this analysis to Jalen Rose when he was on the Bulls.Gladstone said:The ESPN coverage of this draft is borderline unwatchable.
