    You like to say sammich. That’s what you like to say. Way easier that saying sandwich. Plus it lets people know you’re cool.

    This is basically true. I can't tell you how many times I've been told I don't "look Hispanic". That comment comes almost exclusively from people in the West, who tend to assume everybody who speaks Spanish is Mexican and a part of the Rainbow Coalition and a follower of Cezar Chavez.

    I probably tan better than most in the Tug, but beyond that I'm pretty Caucasian. My grandparents are Spaniards from Barcelona and the Canary Islands. Whatever North African blood seeped into the gene pool, if any, it was severely diluted by my Grandmother's crazy Catalan ancestry. She fit the stereotype of those people to a T.
