Heats for the row boat natty commence this Friday with Grand Finals on Sunday. This is the odd year where the race is held in Folsom, CA instead of the back east. My inside sources on the corching staff are concerned that it's going to be a very tall order for the Varsity 8 to knock off the #1 ranked Yale Bull Dwags. Our? team has a shit ton of raw power (e.g., 20 guys under 6:00 for 2,000 meter on the C2) but the Varsity 8 hasn't been rowing as well as hoped for. We shall see and either way it will be interesting. Don't count out CAL either as they we're only 1 sec behind at Pac 12's.

Washington, CAL, Harvard and Yale all won their day 1 heats. Not that it matters, but UW did lay down the fastest time of the day at 5:35.

Entering that boathouse you could just feel the weight of history

The Old Ky Ebright boathouse was really cool and had great history. Sadly, it's been (mostly) replaced by a modern facility that I've never been to. Even in a sport that NOCA like row boat, you've still got a have elite facilities to 'croot. @RaceBannon tore down my old shell house and built the Taj Mahal.BearsWiin said:Entering that boathouse you could just feel the weight of history

That was when I met Isiah Stanback
We were also doing the football coaches office and I ran into Ty. I was ripped to shreds for years by doogs who wanted me to SAY IT TO HIS FACE!!
However Ty was a gentleman and so am I as well as a businessman. The UW campus was like an ATM for us. -
Back when I was on the make work / summer job paint crew in the athletic department in the late 90's I used to always seem Lambo walking around and wanted to say it to his face too (hi @puppylove_sugarsteel ) . But I've always been too classy to go through with such things.RaceBannon said:That was when I met Isiah Stanback

The fact that we will put out the best time today aside, all we have top do is finish in the 6 lowest overall times right?
