His problem is he thinks early game performance is about arousal, but primarily against big time talent teams has been fear. You could even start to see the fear creep in vs. UCLA.
Pete builds the principles of “the little guy” into the program. The problem our team has is confidence under duress.
Mentally weak BS has been our calling card for years and until Pete either gets some alphas to change the culture (please god Skinny) or has to find a way to instill confidence in his betas.
But our entire recruiting strategy is “we want kids who are obedient” - so we aren’t really getting a bunch of swagged out dudes who want to humiliate other teams.

NO Alpha's is an understatement. We need 5-10 guys that have an overabundance of testosterone and don't give a shit if they fuck up sometimes. Pete doesn't allow them to fuck up which is totally against his B4L philosophy. You can't get better without some fuckups to learn from. Oh yeah, and some knappy ass ghetto thugs would be an absolute game changer for this team....never happen. -

The problem is us being mentally weak beta shrivel dicks.
Part of that is the lack of ubiquitous elite physicality (I am used to whipping ass) and part of that is that our coach engages beta strategies to win games “confusion” rather than power.
This is why USC is always hard. And Oregon is going to be hard for the same reason. We should’ve beat Oregon by 2 TDS, but we were so weak we fucked up an easy win.
This is also why we always drub WSU. When we show up we know we are superior in every way. It’s only when they have nothing to play for and we do that we get tight.
USC is going to be shit.
We win this game rather easily.
They were the toughest game except maybe for Cal in 1991 and they went 3-8
You recruiting guys know the talent is there. Not Pete Carroll talent because Clay is a shit coach but talent all the same
If Skinny lights them up then sure because our D will keep them down.

Based on recruiting rankings of the players on the rosters both 2016 Stanford and Oregon had superior talent and we ass blasted them both. Not to mention 2017 UCLA and Oregon.
And if we're going to move the goalpoasts and base this off NFL talent than 2019 USC is not more talented than we are either.
The only way you can make this metric work is by retrofitting your definition of "most talented" to fit the games we have lost. -
