Practices Under Sark

Austin Seferian-Jenkins- 'Practice habits aren't bad they're dismal. Needs vet room. You love size, question ability stretch seam.'

Ouch. Wonder how it would have turned out if he was playing under a REAL coach.

I remember the fucking idiots on doogman that repeatedly said that ASJ was a top 10 pick. He's not going to be anything special in the NFL.

You never know. Look at Burfict for example.
After the fiasco at ASU I would have bet my house he would never make it in the NFL. He went undrafted, and now 2 years later is considered one of the top linebackers in the game. As long as the talent is here, and with ASJ it is, you can't rule out success. Something could click in the pro environment.

Burfict is a beast though. He was a guy you needed to reel in because he was too crazy out there. He did run a slow 40, but teams passed on him because he's not all right in the head. You are right about ASJ having talent, but he is slow and I don't think he will get very good separation. I haven't done a YaleDawg film study, but I would assume he runs shitty routes. I think ASJ will play for awhile in the NFL because of his talent, but I don't think he will be a top flight TE. We'll see though.

I agree that they are different cases, and I thought Burfict was a beast too but that he didn't really care which led to a bad (given his talent) final season at ASU, in addition to the agressiveness problems. Wasn't he even benched by the end of the season? He went from 1st round projection to undrafted, it was a collapse.

You need to be mentally tough to make it in the NFL. I see ASJ, like Burfict, as a guy who is so talented that he's always been able to rely on his natural advantage over others. Of course I don't know the reality, he might be the hardest working player in practice, but it just doesn't seem like it from my point of view.
Anyway I hope for him that being in a pro organization he will get his ass kicked by a coach who believes in him, and that something clicks in his head.

Burfict was kind of the opposite of ASJ thought - the fucker could always play and had a motor that he had a hard time stopping. ASJ has a hard time starting his

He's Jerramy Stevens Part Deux on the field.

He's Jerramy Stevens lite off of it.

ASJ would have made a perfect UCLA Bruin... pre-Mora
