Stanford has no home field advantage in row boat

I've had the dial on the line between the 9 and 10 this whole time, mainly because that's just where it always is and I know nothing about this shit, but I also figure it just most closely simulates what I want to get out of it, which is being able to ride a dirt bike or track bike for longer than 15 minutes without bitching out. I want muscle endurance more than cardio. Still think 4 to 5?

I usually go to a 3 or 3.5, and even down to 2.5 if my back has any soreness or I’m out of shape.
Occasionally I will set the thing on 10 and try to row 10-12 strokes per minute to get a “weightlifting” rowing workout.
Think the last time I raced a 500m I set it to 6. -
Can confirm. Involuntary butt stuff is best butt stuff.YellowSnow said:
Especially if you fuck up on a river back in Appalachia near @Swaye ‘s trailer. You’ll be squealing like a pig in no time.UW_Doog_Bot said:
Only if you are good at it. Ever fuck up a line through a rapid? You'll be doing a lot more cardio than just rowing.BennyBeaver said:

Yes. Maybe 6 if you want but no more than this is needed.1to392831weretaken said:I've had the dial on the line between the 9 and 10 this whole time, mainly because that's just where it always is and I know nothing about this shit, but I also figure it just most closely simulates what I want to get out of it, which is being able to ride a dirt bike or track bike for longer than 15 minutes without bitching out. Do you use the same machine all the time?BearsWiin said:
I row at 8 whether it's 2k, 10k, half marathon, or full marathon. Just feels comfortablest. It's been decades since I've been in a reel boat, so mimicking the feel is lost on meYellowSnow said:

What resistance setting are you guys using for these 10K tests? I've been making pretty big improvements, but I still get the impression that I could row every day for five years and still not make it to 10K without dying. I've plateued at between 3600 and 4K, depending on the day, at about a 2:03 clip. Then I cry for a half hour.
Each machine could be different due to wear and tear so it automatically calculates the drag factor which is the true measure of resistance. You can find it in the settings.
Google concept 2 drag factor if you want to think and care.

Yes, my own model D. Before that, my own model C. Thanks?whlinder said:

Cool. My point was that your 8 setting could represent 6 (or 10) on another machine.BearsWiin said:

Either way it won't be interesting. -
Never in my wildest dreams upon joining HH did I think there would be some much C2 Erg hawt talk. This truly is a place for try hards.whlinder said:
