Boy, eason shining...clear who best qb is so far. Haener. Better in pocket, throws harder too. Take the pick out. Clearly pressing. Eason has digressed, but I mentioned that weeks ago.
Sirmon will transfer 1st, but Pup called that last year (lindquist part 2) Yankoff better, WAAAY more upside.
Eason had a 60% completion percentage, a TD and no INTs.
Not awesome, but certainly not embarrassing.
3.5 yards per attempt.
Embarassing.
Again it was a stupid fucking powder puff game. NOC. We have actual film of Eason playing in the SEC for a year and he wasn’t terrible as a true frosh. If he ends up sucking then we bench his as and next man up
P.S. took lil piss to the Fremont Troll after the practice and then swim lessons. Then almost died in a falling crane accident in S Lake Union. Missed that shit by 5 mins.
No shit.
I was responding to Passion citing to stats from said powder puff game to say Eason did fine.
Except he quoted the wrong stats. Eason was awful.
Obviously it doesn't mean shit but call a spade a spade.
Ones LT - Trey Adams LG - Luke Wattenberg C - Nick Harris RG - Jaxson Kirkland RT - Jared Hilbers
Twos LT - Henry Roberts LG - M.J. Ale C - Cole Norgaard RG - Victor Curne RT - Henry Bainivalu
The first-team defense lined up like this for the first scrimmage period:
DL - Benning Potoa'e DL - Levi Onwuzurike OLB - Joe Tryon OLB - Ryan Bowman ILB - Kyler Manu ILB - M.J. Tafisi CB - Keith Taylor CB - Kyler Gordon Safety - Myles Bryant Safety - Cameron Williams Nickel - Elijah Molden
When the second-team defense came out, this is how they lined up:
DL - John Clark DL - Sam Taimani OLB - Ariel Ngata OLB - Myles Rice ILB - Jackson Sirmon ILB - Josh Calvert CB - Dominique Hampton CB - Dustin Bush Safety - Brandon McKinney Safety - Alex Cook Nickel - Isaiah Gilchrist
-Looks like Taimani passed Tuli for now. Both will play a lot. -Cam Williams (w/ Bryant also at S) playing over McKinney. -I don’t think Ngata can add any weight. I hope we can find use for for him so he isn’t the next Josh Shirley. -Can the Hammer please take Manu’s spot?
Ngata had both his shoulders in a brace. Not good when it comes to gaining weight.

True, but he also has a lean lower half. Honestly he’s lean all around. He’s ripped, but not jacked. Every pic I see of him he’s cut up, but he’s just so lean.

1. I'm HOPING that shit offense was largely a result of them not wanting to show too much in spring. Otherwise I'm ready to see Hamdan hit the bricks. That was some Mike McCarthy offensive bullshit right there. No route combinations to get anybody open. Leading to.....
2. Even if all Eason had was a BS checkdown, he's got to take it instead of holding the ball waiting for slow-developing routes that will never open and taking a sack. Have SOME fucking pocket awareness. I'm wondering if that's why UGa had him throwing mostly short bullshit.
3. QB rankings: Eason, Haener*, Sirmon, Morris, Yankoff. My quick scouting of QBs: "Can he throw?" If he can't do that, he's not a QB. The first 4 guys can throw. Yankoff can't. God his delivery is labored. Morris has Browning's arm and sucks on out routes, but otherwise he can throw. *Sirmon will be better than Haener, but right now I think Haener is enough ahead of Sirmon in other QB skills to be #2. He'll kill you with late throws in the middle, but if you just keep it simple and tell him to tuck and run if it's not there I think he could lead a drive if you needed it.
4. Culp looked huge. One of the guys that immediately had me checking my roster after just a quick glimpse on screen. As did MJ Ale, as did Buelow (but not in a good way; needs to trim a bit, IMO). Levi looked good. Wish Bronson had Levi's lower half.
1. Yeah pretty boring. 2. Tuli Leto fuck me I can't spell or pronounce it was actually quite the beast today. He was getting serious push in pass drills. I wasn't paying too much attention re 1's and 2's but he stood out to me. 3. The defense is still light years ahead. 4. Offense moved the ball when, surprise, they started running the ball. I like the backs we got and its clear the Oline is much better at run blocking. 5. 10 people were there. Marketing sucks. They made everyone come in from the north entrance and people were wandering around the main entrances trying to figure it out. Buddy checked out website and couldn't even find the start time.
1) Practice reports of defense owning offense and qb's struggling (and that's putting it politely) in scrimmages were spot on if today has looked like last 3 weeks. 1) We went 1 rb/4 wr for 2/3rd of scrimmage and couldn't do anything. Our DB's didn't break a sweat in pass coverage and had zero concern or fear the offense could throw the ball on them. 2) Hunter Bryant is still in the witness protection program when it comes to throwing the ball to him. 3) Good News: No one could block Ngata or Tyron off the edge, or keep DL out of the backfield when we passed. Bad news is OL (with 4 returning experienced starters) looked exactly like they did against Bama/Penn State/Ohio State in Pass Protection - overmatched. 4) Savon will be starter, but coaches definitely aren't sold on him. Newton is 3rd string ahead of Kamari and will be 2nd by end of September. 5) I had hope when we focused on run game. There were holes and creases for the rb's.
Oh, I almost forgot the golden moment when Nigel Burton said Haener has "elite talent." Legit WTF. Why can't anybody just give an honest fucking evaluation when talking about players?
He's not terrible, but nothing about his skillset is elite.
Pete says he is looking for consistency out of the QB position for spring day. We all learned who consistently threw picks. Is that a plus for Pete since it's consistent?

It's his offense. We have to wait at this point.

11 tackles for loss in 93 total snaps. Ngata and Tryon with two sacks each, Bowman and Rice with one apiece.
