Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) Monday evening Fox News town-hall event was the most-watched town-hall event of the 2020 campaign thus far, according to early Nielsen data. And at least three other Democratic candidates are open to participating in one of their own.

According to early Nielsen data, more than 2.5 million viewers tuned in to hear Sanders, a self-described “democratic socialist,” make his case on Fox News. That total viewership bested CNN’s Bernie Sanders town hall event from back in February. The Fox viewership also doubled MSNBC’s during the same time period on Monday evening, and nearly tripled CNN’s.
Additionally, per Nielsen, Fox’s Sanders event brought in 489,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54—a key demographic for cable-news advertisers—trouncing CNN’s 281,000 tally and MSNBC’s 208,000.
The event, which took place in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, saw the Vermont senator discuss a wide range of topics and occasionally spar with moderators Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

The left is looking at ratings vs some courageous moral stand they were touting. Do you not agree?

I think it would be a mistake for other candidates to do it and the ones with good advisors won’t do it.

I’d be happy to be proven wrong but I think a Fox News townhall would end every other candidates chances.

    I'm surprised they're surprised.

On Sam Harris's podcast, Jack Dorsey (CEO of Twitter) said that research revealed that conservative journalists were avid followers of prominent liberals on Twitter, but that liberal journalists hardly followed conservatives at all. In other words, the liberals prefer to inhabit echo chambers. So hearing that Dems are startled by Sanders' high ratings on Fox is no surprise at all.

    I listened to that pod.

I hope they avoid it. Bernie is winning in a landslide if they don’t do it, which will all but hand trump 2020.

It’s not about being pussies. Bernie is running a presidential campaign, everyone else has to run a primary campaign.

Moderate democrats don’t like Tulsi’s anti-interventionism. Progressives don’t like her stances on terrorism and torture. Her going on Fox News will highlight those issues.

She could very well with Fox News viewers but that won’t help her in a democratic primary.

So what you're telling me is, again, the Democrats aren't smart enough to nominate the best candidate?

An astute observation. Bernie has the edge in this regard bigly.

The rest will be eliminated from the general trying to win the nomination. Bernie is already watering down his message for mass consumption

Bernie isn't running for the Rat party's nomination? Got a link?

I don’t know if she’s the best candidate. I think policy wise she’s a home run in a general election but I’m not convinced she could handle Trump.

I wouldn’t agree with your phrasing of watering down, he did just go on Fox News and in between thunderous applauses say he’d raise taxes, but we basically agree.
