WTH is a Quook??

Some folks partially got it right, but not entirely. Here's the historical perspective to explain where we are at today.

It all started with WSU fans! As we all know, WSU has a long history of "Coog'n" it. No need to rehash all of their misery, but suffice to say the term Coog It has a long, rich history. As a result, WSU started have fans who lived in denial of their rich history of failure. They would get angry at other Cougar fans who were realistic. They lived in fantasyland and pretended the Coog It black cloud didn't exist. No longer could WSU fans critically discuss the Cougars on their own message board. Fine folks like KJStoph1, Weiser, Blackie, et. al would get private messages from the CougFan admin telling them to keep the negativity off their boards. As a result, the term COOG FAN was invented. Their board had a divide between fans who were in total denial and then other fans who were frustrated with the history of failure, yet they weren't able to fully express their frustration. The COOG fans won out over the realistic fans. CougFan hasn't been the same since. COOGS like LA COOG won out. "lol"

Next, it spread to UW as there became a massive divide under the Tyrone Willingham administration. Folks like Kim, Feters, etc who were in bed with the UW AD lived in fantasyland that nothing wrong was going on. If you talked bad about the Huskies, you would get lectured and eventually kicked off the board. This created the DOOG fan. Fans like Krisvashon, Section14, et. al who towed the company line quickly took over full DOOG fan status and were allowed to dominate the boards on Dawgman. Dawgman transitioned from a great board for all fans to what it is now. The non-DOOGs went onto create their own message boards (HHB). DOOG fans are also those fans who constantly talk about the off season national title or who preached over and over that they are hearing Oregon will get the death penalty...blah, blah, blah. You may even a certain fan of another school become an honorary lapdog DOOG fan doing the dirty work of a Dawgman admin. "lol"

And yes, there are BOOV fans. Look no further than Tweeker, GilesB and others on po.net. I wouldn't say Benny is a BOOV fan as that's an entirely different psychosis.

For Oregon, QUOOK fans really started to shine in November of this year. It's seeing everything with green colored glasses and throwing a fit if anyone dares express concerns about the program. Think of certain fans who actually posted that Chip Kelly wasn't a great coach at Oregon (yeah, a couple fans actually did that). It's the same fans who instantly say DP is a great DC hire. We all know who they are. No need to keep going, the rest of the thread described them well. Some say I am a QUOOK yet many QUOOKs say I am a Negaduck. I'm so confused.

I'm all for supporting your team and COOG, DOOG, BOOV and QUOOK fans all have these qualities. The problem is, they fail to see most negatives with the team they support. They may throw out a minor "concern" to avoid the guilt, but deep down they know who they are.
