I'm just surprised he was considered a top 100 player.
-
If he has to sit out a year, would he use up a scholarship next season? If he would I dont see how we could take him even if we wanted him.
-
Yes he would take up a scholarship. Unless he chose to walk on for one year, which ain’t gonna happen.bananasnblondes said:If he has to sit out a year, would he use up a scholarship next season? If he would I dont see how we could take him even if we wanted him.

And I don't see USC letting him transfer in conference.Dawg_Stan1 said:

Someone on dawgman is claiming he has inside info that Brooks is transferring to UW. Kim says he might walk on and see if he can earn a scholarship
-
Lol he’s getting a scholly. Kim is clueless. This has always been the back up plan for Nowell.
-
Isnt Brooks strictly a PF/4 who put up basically no stats in 28 games on a bad USC team?backthepack said:Lol he’s getting a scholly. Kim is clueless. This has always been the back up plan for Nowell.
How is Brooks a backup plan for Nowell?
No doubt, he is worth taking a random flyer on and throwing a scholarship at given his high school sheet but he does basically nothing that will replace Nowell and plays a position that UW is already pretty solid at.
Transfer to Romar's fightin Pepperdines or SDSU seems like a better fit for him if he still hasnt really figured things out still.
He was an early commit to USC, decommitted in October 2017 after the FBI scandal with USC’s assistant coach came to light, committed to St. John’s in December 2017, decommited from St John’s in February 2018, then eventually signed with USC. And is now transferring away after having a pretty poor season. I really wonder if he is going to be happy and patient enough to sit behind a front court of Wright, McDaniels, and Stewart for a year?

Back up plan as in he’s getting the roster spot lol. Kid can play. He was just in a bad situation at SC. He’ll be good here.Houhusky said:

I mentioned it in my recruiting post in April.. plus it should be obvious to anyone that knows how to look at twitter followers..bananasnblondes said:Someone on dawgman is claiming he has inside info that Brooks is transferring to UW. Kim says he might walk on and see if he can earn a scholarship

Yeah I think Brooks would be good for us. I think my hesitation for wanting him is just being caught up in how great we are recruiting right now.
If Hop thinks Brooks is on par with the plausible '20 big man targets then I'm fine with it. -

He should have came here out of HS, he's a great addition for 20/21 season.
-
He can play this year. Remember the new PAC-12 rule?Rapeculturedawg said:He should have came here out of HS, he's a great addition for 20/21 season.

So much winning!
-
It seems to me that Hop, and I don't use this term lightly, fucks. He fucks hard.
-
This further cements my hope that Timmins rides the pine permanently.
-
He still needs a waiver to play this year. Seems NCAA is pretty lax about granting them, but who knows.backthepack said:

Wow. Fucking Hopkins.
-
Is he good? Pretty shitty numbers regardless of how dysfunctional USC was last year.
-
Pretty sexy front court we're assembling
-
Yes he’s good. He had two seniors who are going to be good pros either in europe or the NBA in front of him. Think a stretch 4 version of Dickerson.
-
Liked his game at Garfield. No clue how he matched up, up a level but astretch 4 Dickerson is a pro. Your talking about potential right?backthepack said:Yes he’s good. I pop for hop

Yeah ceiling. He needs to get strong and he’s 6”9.DawgFader said:

So much length we can throw at teams next year. Brooks would have been the tallest player for most of Romar's teams and he's like the fifth or sixth tallest on the team now. Obviously you can indeed recruit height to Washington, LR just sucked at it. Assuming these guys can get their zone assignments down the defense should be extremely hard to score on by the time we get to the conference schedule. I can't wait to watch Hop mold this group of athletes.
-
Hop gives me a massive boner.
"Nobody but Romar can recruit to UW" said a dumbass known as Basnight -
IMO, good depth pick up. I think a redshirt year would be ideal, get him on the weight and nutrition plan they had Roberts on.
-
So wait until they all get their reads down?theknowledge said:So much length we can throw at teams next year. I love how Hop takes guys with a certain transferable skillset or elite ceilings to fill out the bottom of the roster. Brooks is one of the most skilled bigs to come out of Seattle in a long time. He score at all three levels including the 3, high level footwork in the post, was metro DPOY, good rebounder, and is a good passer. He just wasn’t physically ready last year and USC actually had a good front court.
