In the television series Grimm, set in the Pacific Northwest, Portland detective Nick Burkhardt, descended from a long line of warriors known as Grimms, defends his city from magical creatures known as the Wesen. Creatures like Ziegevolk (goat-men), Blutbads (Werewolves) and Hexenbiests (witches).

As it turns out, Grimm is more fact than fantasy.
In 2006, a trust was set up to analyze and collate a huge number of wooden crates found sealed in the basement of a London townhouse that was due for demolition. Seemingly untouched since the 1940′s, the crates contained over 5000 specimens of flora and fauna, collected, dissected, and preserved by many forgotten scientists, professors and explorers of obscure cultures and species. The collection also housed many artifacts of curious origin, fragments of civilizations that once ruled the earth, of ideas and belief systems perhaps better left in the past.
But the most curious aspect of this discovery was the man responsible for its existence – the enigmatic, mysterious gentlemen that had gathered together a wealth of relics that challenged our understanding of nature; of species that had never been witnessed by the modern world, of objects which defied physical laws,
Lord Thomas Theodore Merrylin

Lord Merrylin was born in 1782 to a rich aristocratic family. His father was a General in the Army, but once retired became enamored with esoteric natural history, investing in profitable companies to fund his travels across the world, seeking out elusive artifacts and hidden species which resided in forgotten continents or darkened places, away from prying human eyes.
Below is a brief video clip of what was found in the London home of Lord Merrylin along with photos of the specimens he collected.

You're probably thinking this is hoax. It's not. Start watching the following video at about 3:45 minutes. Lord Merrylin's mythical beasts are actual 2000 year old biological specimens, and dna was collected from them.

The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. Their hair was like women's hair, and their teeth was like lion's teeth. They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for 5 months. - Revelation 9: 7,8 & 10 -
I'm glad you separated out dragons and wyverns. Too often they are lumped in together when they are in fact different animals.

I’m gonna jump on the crazy train and say that something that looked a lot like this mobbed my closed screen door when I was about 6 years old. My mom heard it and came into the room, but never saw it and dismissed it as a dog. No dog was ever that quick or ferocious looking.
