VH is my favorite band of all time. But that interview was all over the place. Everybody knows the VH brothers basically have a gag in Roth’s mouth that states he can’t talk about VH.

The brothers would have been eaten alive if the internet was around in 1985. As 15 year old kid and my favorite band just released one of their biggest albums and broke up. Imagine the news we would have gotten back then. Instead of reading your friends copy of Shit Parader.

EVH would rather sell Converse knock off shoes than put out music. Sometimes I wonder if I chose the wrong favorite band of all time when I was 7 to 9 years old.

    You did.

They were a slightly edgier, and thus better, hair band than that rest of the crap that wound up dominating the 80s. That is, before the synthesizer came in and before they popped up their act. The first album and Diver Down were the best. Down hill after that.
    Diver Down?!?! Jesus H....

Jamie's Crying is a solid B song from VH. Not even close to a top-20 of their hits.

So anus is a connoisseur of VH; but JCs Diver Down and gives Jamie's Crying a B grade.

    Jimminy Christmas.

IFL Diver Down. Bought it at some stoner’s garage sale at 1am walking back from the Ave to my house in Wallingford senior year.

Diver Down is half shit cover songs. Their worst album. I'd rather listen to Van Haggar.

Jamie's Cryin' is good, not great. Literally 8 other songs that are better on that album if you like rock music with energy and Eddie's best shredding. Don't get me wrong, on Diver Down it wouldn't be the top track, no doubt.

You are not a VH connoisseur, which is why you don't realize these things.

I would've corrected this had Vanilla not shit itself. Regardless, poont still stands.

Gobs of free pub on this pod from Diamond Dave. He basically told @RaceBannon to Fuck Off by saying Rod Stewart was GOAT. Said Ricky Ricardo @creepycoug was his all tim favorite Kooban.

Trust me on this: there's not a single Cuban alive who gives two shits about Diamond Dave.

He was for sure the best lead man for VH, but as a band, they're a B+ on the all tim list. Please. Those guys are fags.
He talked about how in VH's early days they played for latino audiences in Southern California. Which is why they incorporated the cha-cha and the rumba in some of those songs like Jamie's Cryin' and Dance the Night Away. The reference to Ricky Rcardo was I think just a colorful way of saying they were hip to the latino scene in order to build their popularity in the Southland

Diver Down is Alright. The original songs on it are great. Two of the covers are good. The others not so much. The tour of Diver Down was when VH were epic. People could care less to see DLR twirl a baton and do rhythmic gymnastics during 1984 tour.
