I respect KISS for what they did for rock gimmicks but the thought of listening to that many of their albums is terrifying

ALIVE II (This album kind of has everything. The album jacket was bitchin.)

    KISS

Love Gun (I have this one over Destroyer just on that I like the songs on Love Gun slightly better)

    Destroyer

Music from The Elder (as a kid, I thought this album sucked big balls. Mainly because the lack of cover art. But I have grown to appreciate this album for what it is)

    Creatures of the Night

    Dynasty

    Dressed to Kill

    ALIVE I

    Rock and Roll Over

    Ace Frehley Solo

    Lick It Up

    Hotter than Hell

    Unmasked

    KISS Unplugged

    Psycho Circus

    Paul Stanley Solo

    Revenge

    Crazy Nights

    Animalize

    Asylum

    ALIVE III

Hot in the Shade (has one song for the ladies "Forever". or as I call monster ballads 'songs for girls to lose their virginity to'

    Carnival Souls

    Gene Simmons Solo

    Sonic Boom

    Monster

Peter Criss Solo (this record is essentially the sound of a shit stretching out the anus and plopping into the bowl)

Kiss should have shut it down after Kiss.

My mom wouldn’t let me have a Kiss lunchbox—I had to settle for Evil Knevil. Great role model selection as always, Mom.

Looking back, Mom was right. Kiss, outside of their first album sucked. Balls. Still saw them in concert. 5 times. One show, Ace tried flicking me guitar picks, one after the other, only to have them dart away at the last second into some Bevis looking guy’s hand.

I ponied up—twice—for the Farwell Tour which started in 1996. No typo.

$500 scoots a piece, my buddy and I ponied up for the front row in Vegas, left side of the stage—Gene’s side.

He hocked a luge off to his right, near the end of the opener, Deuce, then pointed at me, hollared “ Yeah! Oh yeah!” lifted his left leg and crashed it down as the song ended. Cool story.

I dropped a significant sum seeing Kiss. What a dud I am.

My buddy saw them about a month ago. They were the only act and they came on 90+ minutes late.

First - they all suck. KISS is terrible... but I love them anyway.

    1. Destroyer - If Bob Ezrin hadn't been on so much coke, there would be some bass frequencies on the record and it would be listenable.
    2. Alive I - VODKA AND ORANGE JEEEEWCE
    3. Alive II - Shock Me!
4 - 6. The Good Records that are fun to listen to even if they suck: Love Gun, Rock n Roll Over
7-18. The bad records that are good on some level, nostalgia, funny, have a couple good songs or whatever: KISS, Hotter than Hell, Dressed to Kill, Ace's solo, Gene's solo, Dynasty, Unmasked, Music from the Elder, Lick it Up, Anamalize, Creatures, Unmasked
19-21. The Bad albums that have a redeeming aspect to them: Paul's solo, Asylum, Alive III
22-27. The total shit: Crazy Nights, Hot in the Shade, Revenge, Carnival, Psycho, Boom, Monster
28-infinity. All possible albums KISS could make in any alternate universe
    Infinity + 1. Peter's solo

This is my jam off Pete's solo, tho... I always like a nice late 70s soft rock song...

    One of Gene's best:

It's insane how a guy whose BAC is probably 45% can play like this (I think the drunk singing makes it even better):

    Dynasty

I received Dynasty (the album) when I was staying at my grandparents' farm. I was 9 or 10. My hands were shaking I was so excited. I played it over and over on the living room stereo.

Alive—Live albums all suck. This is the exception that proves the rule.

Kiss—If yore band didn’t try to cover Black Diamond, you weren’t really a band.

Destroyer—Peter Criss should’ve been fired on the tarmac for even suggesting Beth. That’s what keeps this album down.

Love Gun—Huh, huh. Huh, huh. Love gun.

Dressed to Kill/Hotter Than Hell—There’s a word to describe these albums. Fine. Not great. Not bad.

Ace Frehley—The only solo album that isn’t complete horsecrap.

Rock n Roll All Over—The last on the list of these albums that can canonically described as good.

Revenge—Subtle boost to the fact that Wyld Stallyns play “God Gave Rock ‘n Roll To You” to win the San Dimas Battle of the Bands.

Music from the Elder—So that’s what cocaine sounds like?

Killers/Creatures of the Night/Lick It Up—Someone I respect once tried to convince me the Vinnie Vincent Kiss era wasn’t all bad. He’s not entirely wrong. Or right, either.

Paul Staley— Second best of the solo albums. Still shouldn’t have been made.

Gene Simmons—See above. Change second to third.

Alive 2/Alive 3/Unplugged— Live albums all suck.

Animalize/Crazy Nights/Hot in the Shade—Sound exactly like every other 70s band trying to make a relevant album for the 80s.

Psycho Circus/Monster/Carnival of Sin—If every remaining copy of these haven’t already been buried in a Kiss coffin, they should be.

Peter Criss—Why didn’t Kiss fire Peter Criss on the 50-yard-line after Beth again?
