Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) threatened her moderate colleagues during a Thursday Democratic caucus meeting, telling the lawmakers she plans to provide progressive activists searching for primary targets with a list of Democrats who work across the aisle.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi began the meeting by chastising the two dozen moderates who voted on Tuesday in favor of a Republican amendment to a gun control bill that requires gun retailers to report illegal immigrants who attempt to buy a gun.
“We are either a team or we’re not, and we have to make that decision,” Pelosi said, two people who were present told the Washington Post. -

That so many here wish to become Romania, Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela etc. is disturbing. Talking to anyone from a socialist or communist (same thing) country should scare anyone into a conservative.DerekJohnson said:
I cautiously predicted Trump would win about 2 months before the election. I was talking to a friend who is in her 50s, and she immigrated to America in 1986 from Romania. She came here as a political refugee. Romania had stripped her and her husband of their citizenship.PurpleThrobber said:
I predicted Trump would win in February 2016. All my elite edjumacated intellectual frens laughed hysterically.RaceBannon said:
My role here is as right wing hate monger Trump dick sucker and I don't care. But I am noticing that people who didn't vote for Trump and don't want to in 2020 are getting fed up with the bullshit over the last two years and the demosocialists taking over the democrat party and may not have any choice but to vote for Trump.PurpleThrobber said:
I believe they've got about 18 months to get their shit together. The sleeping bear of the middle is about to awake and sweep them all the fuck out. AOC better enjoy her 15 minutes of fame.RaceBannon said:The dems who are in the cross hairs won last fall and gave the house back to the dems by promising not to be insane when they got to DC and several ran against Pelosi to win as well
How dare they follow through
NYC is already begging Amazon to come back. She's fucked when the money people go after her.
They may not like saying it here and getting jumped on by the rabble but they don't have to. They just have to vote
EVERYONE hated Nixon. I loved McGovern and just knew he would win because everyone hated Nixon
I was SHOCKED at the 49 state loss. There really is a silent possible majority.
America doesn't like extremes
They didn't factor in just how hated Hilary was/is. And at that point, Trump was the middle compared to Obama/Hilary extreme. He probably still is more moderate than not (war kennedy democrat). That equates to right wing extreme to the fat mouths like AOC, Schumer and Pelosi.
Dems are stupid fucks.
She has been telling me for a few years that America is slowly turning into the old Romania, in terms of free speech and governmental oppression.
She hates Hillary and is very much a Republican. Before the election she told me how worried she was that Hillary was going to win all 50 states in a landslide. I told her I had a hunch Trump was going to actually win. She said "how can you say that when EVERYONE is against him?"
I said that I had seen clips of Hillary speaking to a half-filled room. And I had seen clips of Trump speaking to a sold-out arena. I said the media is portraying something that doesn't exist. -
Hopefully Derek Johnson's neighbor isnt a historian or something because that Romania comparison is pretty bad

Karl Rove figured out that there is no meaningful center to appeal to in 2004 (it’s why Bush’s ‘04 campaign focused on gay marriage so much) and yet people still believe in a mythical center that can win a presidential election. If that were true the Hillary strategy of appealing to Republicans dismayed by Trump would have worked.
The best way for the democrats to win back power is by turning out their base, in which a majority supports progressive Sanders-wing policies. If Bill Clinton’s New Democrats who were basically just 1970’s Republicans were too far left for you than you were never going to vote for a demcroat anyway and can fuck off. -
I feel more or less the same. I wish the New York Times would quit running monthly profiles on why some white dude from rural ohio voted for trump like it's going to reveal some complex reasoningHardlyClothed said:Karl Rove figured out that there is no meaningful center to appeal to in 2004 (it’s why Bush’s ‘04 campaign focused on gay marriage so much) and yet people still believe in a mythical center that can win a presidential election.
