Why do people play football? It's fun to play, sure... but everyone does it to get adulation. These guys are all 17 years old, so they aren't even slightly immune to a bunch of people yelling GO DAWGS at them on twitter.

I just view it as an extension of being loud on third down. Same premise. Trying to help by supporting.

I will roll with this rationzalization as it will continue to let me look at myself in the mirror without disgust and calmly place my head on the pillow at night.
