That’s a weird parallel to Sark that the author shoe horned in there for no real reason. But anyways, of course Syracuse remains a threat to steal Hop back, that hasn’t changed since day 1. Hopefully Hop doesn’t want to be the guy who immediately succeeds a 40 year head coach, but we won’t know until we get there.

Well, the easy controllable solve is to keep on winning. Collect the money (tourney money) to pay him when others come to knock.
