IT'S NOT OVER FOR BENNETT!

Sounds like Bennett isn't enough "sizzle" for the UCLA folks. But seriously, how fucking dumb do you have to be to not want Tony Bennett because of his style of play? The guy just fucking wins.
-
Fuck me. Bennet would absolutely crush it at UCLA.
-
Can't wait for the first round loss. Bennett should be available early.

If it's so easy why dont you try putting on a suit grabbing a clipboardRaceBannon said:Can't wait for the first round loss. Bennett should be available early.

Either Bennett or Gregg Marshall should put chills into the rest of the conference - it will be back like Wooden days winning the league title. Everybody else will play for second.ToddTurnerLIVES said:Sounds like Bennett isn't enough "sizzle" for the UCLA folks. Tony Bennett is like George Karl. Awesome to watch in the regular season. Like the defensive schemes. But shit the bed too often in the tourney. Yeah they both made a couple deep runs. But overall usually underperform when teams have more time to prepare for them.
That being said, if it's on the table for him to go to UCLA. He should jump at that. You don't get shit for talent at Virginia compared to UCLA. And UCLA would be fucktarded to not take him. He's a top 10 coach and I don't see any other 10 coaches leaving their team any time soon. -
I’m on bored with Bennett breaking through. He’s won too consistently not to. Jay Wright was a loser in March until he wasn’t.2001400ex said:Tony Bennett is like George Karl. Bennett has won multiple ACC championships which is probably the toughest conference in college basketball with Duke and North Carolina... while coaching at fucking VIRGINIA. He has also won the ACC tourney multiple times. Multiple number one seeds. He will make at least one final 4 before it is all said and done and possibly multiple. He is not in the same class as Coach K (no one is), Self, Few, Williams, Cal, Izzo etc but he is awfully close.
-
Fair but Virginia has always been SERIOUS about basketball
-
Tony’s got the chops but he’ll always be in his daddy Dick’s shadow.
-
I’m okay with it. Yeah, Bennett at UCLA would push our dicks in more often than not. But Christ, this conference needs a boost soon before they dismantle the whole thing.
-
The 45-40 UCLA v UW games would be epic. Can't wait.
-
Lol as long as UW comes out on top. Just win.theknowledge said:The 45-40 UCLA v UW games would be epic. Can't wait.

I said this about three years ago and got plenty of arguments on here. Honestly forgot who they were...but they can i.d. themselves if they feel up to it...ToddTurnerLIVES said:Sounds like Bennett isn't enough "sizzle" for the UCLA folks. They fired a coach who took them to Final Fours (Howland) because they didn't like his style of play.
Now they're gonna snatch up Bennett so that they can return to that style of play. -
Why would Bennett want to go to UCLA??? He’s getting all of the talent He could ever want at a place that cares about B-ball just as much as UCLA does, in the here and now.
He’s ruling the toughest conference in Hoops year in and year out. Eventually they will get past the Sweet 16 and win a Natty. -
You don't think UCLA has a higher recruiting ceiling than UVA?salemcoog said:Why would Bennett want to go to UCLA??? He’s getting all of the talent He could ever want at a place that cares about B-ball just as much as UCLA does, in the here and now.

Not to mention salary ceiling? -
Nope. Bennett doesnt recruit the AAU one and done Kids anyway. Most of them play 3 or 4 years. He has just as good of facilities as UCLA in a gorgeous smaller town. Besides, if Bennett ever did have a serious discussion with UCLA, UVA would simply ask him what his number is, rip up his contract and give him a new one.HillsboroDuck said:

All things considered you compete with Washington and maybe ASU/SC/Oregon instead of Duke/NC. If UCLA wants him he's theirs.salemcoog said:

You're grinding against other blue bloods just to win the regular season that no one watches.RaceBannon said:

In the Pac 12 he would probably run it better than Arizona ever has, build up routine #1 seeds, etc. -

You think he'll win tourney games at UCLA? From the Slack 12?

Actually agree with Salem. He has more competition out east but a lot more to choose from. Of the current roster, only four of the top ten producing players are from California (6-4), but if you look at the top 7, getting the most minutes, only 2 out of the 7 are from California. Demographics in places like LA have shifted. UCLA will always attract top kids but I think the ability to recruit top to bottom talent is easier in the middle of the eastern states.

He’d be in the middle of the second largest metro area, which produces plenty of top talent each year, recruiting against pretty much nobody except a couple P12 programs and any of the national powers that wanna shoot their shot. The roster problems are more indicative of Alford being an idiot than UCLA’s inability to recruit top talent.
