#3 Marvin GayeI'm pretty torn here. I probably enjoy Bill Withers very best songs over Marvin Gaye's top one. But Marvin Gaye is in the same category as Stevie Wonder in terms of being a major 60's star who was successfully able to go onto even bigger Stardom in the 70's and stay relevant into the 80's

#3 Marvin GayeI'd have probably taken Bill Withers over half of the artists in this field ... just not against Marvin

Marvin Gaye is going to be a tough out. His longevity - basically 20 years of being relevant - is rivaled by few here.Tequilla said:I'd have probably taken Bill Withers over half of the artists in this field ... just not against Marvin

#3 Marvin GayeIt honestly pained me to vote against Bill Withers ... I'm far more likely to listen to his songs than Marvin's ... that being said Marvin is better.

#6 Bill WithersThis is fucking BRUTAL seeding for Bill. It's hard to go against Marvin... but how do you live in a Coke den with your jealous cross dressing dad and let him shoot you? Bill Withers didn't do that shit.
He also did this, which is a top 1% musical moment from the 20th century.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIdIqbv7SPo

We’ll have to do a future thread about the best sounding reissues. Mobile Fidelity’s Aretha’s Gold is next levelGilbystaint said:
