Football is a brutal game it's not about if you're going to get hurt, you will, it's about if you're going to be injured. Losing an entire year due to injury is a very high price to pay.

My son SHOULD have played football. He was a very promising pitcher in baseball - threw mid-80s at 15 years old. Blew his arm out. 2 ulnar nerve surgeries and he was done. He was a big dude - should have played football. That said you can get injured playing pretty much anything.

That's the one thing you've got to watch in baseball. Both of my guys used to pitch but that wasn't going to be where they were going to make their bones if they continued to play. My oldest was actually a pretty damn good pitcher, he didn't have your boy's velocity at 15 but he had good control. I limited his innings from the beginning. Seen too many kids who ruined their arms at an early age.
