Yeah lots of shots at Trump but whatever. Interesting case for how Youngkin has made this a race, and how McAuliffe and woke-ism have pushed white suburban coalitions that just supported them as recently as last year back towards a centrist Republican. If Youngkin wins this thing it is a seismic event. A complete repudiation of woke-ism, trans bathroom policies and big governments approach to parental rights in schools. McAuliffe should be up HUGE right now. The fact that this is close shows what an absolute faceplant Dems nationally (Pelosi, Biden, etc.) and locally (McAuliffe, Northam) have done.

Is Youngkin my ideal modern conservative? No. But the fact that mask mandates in schools go away day 1 has even Mrs. Swaye cheering for the upset in a big way. McAuliffe is never ending Covid and "the government knows better than you about your kids so give them over to the collective." Youngkin isn't. Perfect? No. But this choice is simple.
