Taiwan reported the largest ever incursion by China's air force into its air defense zone on Monday at 52 aircraft, saying the Taiwanese air force had to scramble for the fourth straight day to warn off the intruders, as tensions spiraled.
Chinese-claimed Taiwan has complained for a year or more of repeated missions by China's air force near the democratically governed island, often in the southwestern part of its air defense zone close to the Taiwan-controlled Pratas Islands.

But since Friday, when China marked its national day, the country has embarked upon a massive ramping up of its missions, with almost 150 aircraft flying into the defense zone over the space of four days.

The latest mission included 34 J-16 fighters and 12 nuclear-capable H-6 bombers, which all flew in an area in the vicinity of the Pratas Islands, according to a map provided by the ministry.

Its coming. People need to understand what this is going to do not only to human rights but to commercial products. There was a time not too many decades ago this would be considered war, China against the rest of the world. Now we play politics with war and even after 20 years we just let the bad guys have what they want.

China has said over and over they were going to reclaim and they typically do what they say they are going to do. Especially if there is a monetary reason, which in this case there is a big gain for China.

Don't worry. General Milley is on top of it.

There is no monetary gain. This is a wag the dog exercise as the chicom economy is on life support. I'd be surprised if Taiwan doesn't have a nuke or two.

China plays the long game. They know our “leaders” have short attention spans. Gotta get those pronouns down. Important stuff first.

Otherwise known as a floating target. Today, the US can't make a next generation aircraft carrier that works. Carriers work great against third world countries. Not so much against anyone with modern anti-ship missiles. The key would be our hunter nuclear submarines and whether we would actually use them. Taiwan definitely needs nukes.

I think the Nimitz can take care of herself just fine
