Ukraine is a s*** hole because of the corruption by their leaders. Southern Ukraine is agriculturally rich (enough to essentially feed the world). There is a reason why in every invasion of Russia, Ukraine was immediately targeted. Eastern Ukraine also has a lot of valuable natural resources.

I am Ukrainian and know what is going on there from the relatives who still live there. Honestly from what I gather Ukraine will break apart. Crimea first and than followed by Donetsk and Kharkov. At that point neither the U.S. or Europe will give two S***s about Ukraine. They just want to get their hands on Southern/Eastern Ukraine and gain their agriculture for their own benefit. That is the only reason Europe or the U.S. is making a huge issue about what is going on in Ukraine.

I also laugh at the proposed sanctions against Russia by Europe/US. Russia is a nation that is hard to sanction because of their wealth of natural resources. Europe will not do it as Russia will shut down the flow of natural gas into Europe. That will hurt Europe's economy more than sanctions will hurt Russia's. The United States alone sanctioning Russia will not have a huge impact without Europe also doing it.

Arguing about military strength between Russia and the U.S. is laughable. Very, very, very few people actually know about the true strength of each other's military might. In the case of Russia and America it won't be the land troops, air force or navy that will decide the outcome. The outcome will be decided by each nations ICBM's, SLBM's, SSBN's and their defense systems against them. Fact is if a war breaks out between Russia and the U.S. the whole world is F***ed because both nations have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the whole wold.

While I agree it is stupid to compare military might while ignoring nuclear weapons, the fact is that the US Navy and AF is better equipped than the Russian's.

In a total war scenario, one US carrier fleet could destroy an entire country, Russia and China notwithstanding. Ten of them could send Russia and China to the apocalypse.
And while you're busy sending them to the 'apocalypse,' MacArthur, they've nuked Seattle, Los Angeles, SFO, etc. from secret bases we don't know exist.
For the 3rd time, I'm not taking nuclear weapons into consideration in this hypothetical. Christ.
Sorry dude, but you can't remove the most important part of the equation from the problem and expect to get a hypothetical result that would be anything close to reality.
You can when you're engaging in hypothetical WW3 scenarios on a message board.

We can also discuss whether Alabama would have won any titles without Nick Saban. It's just as silly.

You guys need to stop with serious responses to D2D.

Especially when you're trying to find an argument in support of Obubba.

You likely didn't score very high on reading comprehension on you SATs. You should really reread my poaste. I said it wasn't an option.

In addition, you obviously have never seen a nuclear weapon. Tactical nuclear weapons can have a yield as low as 18 tons of TNT, and they make a lovely deterrent. Plus, they're great at neatly wiping out a Russian Armored Division. Too bad we got rid of all of them. Keep discussing things you have no experience in. You're doing a great job of replacing CollegeDouche.

FWIW, you can keep your Obubba. I certainly have no use for him; and apparently no one else does either.

Yep, send thousands of these M109 155mm Howitzers with baby nukes in them, lined up along the entire border with Russia, and don't make it a secret after it's done. It used to work great for 50 years against them. It should still work.

I honestly was never in the military so I won't go about arguing which side has better nuclear weaponry. I question all the internet know it alls.

What I find more interesting is the similarity between Putin and Hitler. I mean this can't be just a coincidence:

Hitler rose to power in a Democratic Germany and quickly turned it into a totalitarian democracy (essentially a dictatorship that is masked by a democracy) ran by the Nazi party that through propaganda and imprisoning political opposition lead to only one real option for citizens to vote on.

Putin has likewise followed a similar path in making a totalitarian democracy that votes all things Putin. The parliament and every form of government in Russia does as Putin says. He likewise has used propaganda, imprisonment of political opposition and changed Russian laws to stay in power.

They likewise took over for two former superpowers (Hitler with Germany and Putin with Russia) that were in a dire economic position where both nations were essentially bankrupt and high inflation.

Both improved the economy quickly through industrialization, government projects and natural resources.

After economy started to thrive they both hosted the Olympic games to demonstrate political might.

They also both turned to expansion in a similar matter. Hitler with Austria/Sudetenland where in both cases he used the excuse of protecting German people. In Austria he first over-threw the government to create upheaval and quickly sent in troops and established a puppet government. In Putin's case he uses the political troubles of Ukraine to stage protests that "threaten" ethnic Russians to move into Ukraine militarily. As such he will take over a large portion of Ukraine when this is all said and done (at least by the looks of it).

Europe/U.S. proposed sanctions against Germany but it was all talk as no one in Europe wanted another war and if Hitler expanded a little to preserve peace it was "fine" by the "West". At the end of the day war was just too expensive. In Putin's case again we see the EU and the U.S. tired of war. They will throw empty jabs at Putin but do nothing to really help Ukraine.

Than once Hitler grabbed a few other territories Europe became concerned. Putin will follow Ukraine with Belarus and perhaps Moldova/Estonia/Lithuania/Georgia/etc.,

Hitler invades Poland and Europe is forced into WWII. Putin will invade Poland and start WWIII.

Japan wants to expand and joins Germany/Axis and takes over the West Pacific and invades China. China wants to expand militarily and will invade nearby Islands/nations to expand militarily thereby joining Russia. Welcome to WWIII.

Everything seems to fall in place. Therefore Putin = Hitler. Mind F****** blown.

Disagree with a lot of this.

    - Putin didn't write a version of Mein Kampf detailing his hatred for any particular ethnic/societal groups or jot down how he plans to take over the world and cause worldwide destruction.

    - Putin didn't rise to power in a democratic country. Russia has never been democratic. The tsars, the communist leaders. Putin is merely following in the footsteps of the past. Gorbachev appointed Yeltsin. Yeltsin appointed Putin. Voting is just a formality. Russia has always had an autocrat/strongman as leader. Putin didn't arrest dictatorial power from a democratic country, but he has solidified his power so that he would be difficult to remove and probably will be a leader for life provided he stops being stupid and thinking he can invade other countries whenever he sees fit.

    - Russia suffered most from Nazi Germany. I highly doubt they would try to do the same to the world.

    - Where are the Herman Gorings, the Heinrich Himmlers, the Joseph Goebbels of Putin's regime? He hasn't installed any clever henchmen in places of power like Hitler did.

To equate Putin to Hitler doesn't fly. Putin is a bully, and even though his favorite song is the Beatle's "Back in the USSR," I doubt if he is really naïve enough to think he could pull that off without stiff world resistance.

You are SOOOO 20th Century. We now live an Enlightened Age where human nature has changed completely. Megalomaniacs no longer exist.

So why has Machiavelli been in print continuously in dozens of languages for 500 years? So human nature doesn't change?

You quoted someone asking if you were going to respond to my request for your response. That implies you are responding to that point. In a post where you were allegedly suggesting how Obama should have responded you said the only option is to use ICBMs. Literally you said that is the only option. You then followed that with a sentence fragment. You frequently interject non-sequiturs into your posts so there was no reason to think that was supposed to be attached to the previous thought.

If you would liked to have communicated intelligibly you could have said, "The only means to stop Putin from invading Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, etc., is to use ICBM's. That is not a viable option."

As ever, my reading comprehension is fine and your ability to use your brain isn't.

The only option to stopping Putin from invading Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, etc., is to use ICBM's. Not a viable option.

BUT OBUBBA KILLED BIN LADEN! So what has he done for you lately?
Ok, so your solution is to start lobbing ICBMs at Russia starting yesterday. Got it.

I am thankful Obama is president and not you.
You likely didn't score very high on reading comprehension on you SATs. You should really reread my poaste. I said it wasn't an option.

"The only option to stopping Putin from invading Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, etc., is to use ICBM's. Not a viable option."

So are you going to answer Mad Sons question or not?

For those who are unhappy with what President Obama has done to handle the Russia-Ukraine situation - what would you like to have seen him do differently thus far?

You are kidding, right? This is the dumbest thing you've ever said. You should ask this question of Ukrainians, or Czechs, or Slavs, or Poles, or maybe even the French. I heard Putin's girlfriend wants to own Paris.

But Obama has a great chance to get some advice. Netanyahu just landed in DC today. Might he be able to answer this question?
Why would I be kidding? I noticed you didn't give an answer. I will assume you are implying you would tell Russia, "If you don't withdraw all of your troops from Ukraine we will nuke you". That is a fucktarded option. Of course, if you had a sane plan, you would have simply answered the question.
