Thanks for the info and your presence here! Your son appears to be a baller and a good kid.PapaBrailsford said:Man, reading through the posts here is like sifting through dog diarrhea in shag carpet because maybe, just maybe, there might be something valuable amongst the waste. I'm happy to clarify a few things...at least from my perspective...but I will tell you from the outset, I'm not going to break any news that isn't mine to break. What I am told in confidence is going to remain as such.
Coach Lake does speak to recruits. He is very involved with the process. We spent an hour or more with him talking ball, life, etc. He is genuine and personable. As my son went through the recruiting process, I was surprised to learn that that is somewhat of a rarity in college coaching. He, like coach Huff are very easy to relate to...very likeable.
UW campus is incredible. But if you've seen it, you know that already.
We had a chance to walk out onto the new turf. That stadium is incredible. The thought of 72k screaming lunatics in the stands is enough to give even the dead goosebumps.
Coach Socha and his staff are dialed in. The technology and resources available to UW players...to help make them better athletes...is second to none.
Decommitments, in my opinion, say a lot more about the recruit than the staff. UW doesn't make a ton of offers. They made 7 offers to IOL. They don't make a ton offers because each and every offer is meaningful. Why a kid would decommit because he received an "offer" from a school that made 40+ offers to IOL is baffling to me.
Anyhow, I have to cut this short.
Go DAWGS!
We’re here because we love this program and/or are hopeless lifers. Right now is especially testy because we’re likely about to lose a generational local kid and that sucks. The squad looks pretty promising for this season though.
Good to hear the positive perception of Jimmy. We have high hopes for him and his tenure is still relatively young. Hope you stick around despite the towel slapping and general rancor.
Shameless bragging here, but Parker ran an electronic 4.8 40 last week (on turf, not a track). He’s going to be a load.
As for the local stud, if we lose out on him it isn’t because he didn’t feel the love from this staff. It’s because he wanted something other than what UW can offer. That’s my take anyway.

You’re absolutely right on Socha … I had the chance to listen to him talk a few years ago about the S&C program and it’s nails … if you can’t get your body right with him as a D1 athlete you aren’t going to do it
Enjoy your visit … while many of us complain about the warts of UW (largely because we suffer from knowing too much) … the reality is that UW is truly a special place -
He’s not a lock, but pretty close. New born baby sibling, he has another younger brother too. He’s not leaving his family.dirtysouwfdawg said:

There are a lot of "insiders" likeFecalFeast said:@sonics1993@DetlefdWag that I don't mind, as the ratio of insider info to "I don't know how to put this, but I'm kind of a big deal" is at least greater than 1. But Acropolis? I'd rather stop giving that guy the attention he clearly craves. -

I’m getting old, why are they at a barbershop? How is that stepping up the photo shoot?

I think the “barbershop” is a space of sanctuary and conviviality within the urban community. People “chop it up,” as it were, to share their common woes and successes. Jimmy, though follicly challenged, understands this dynamic more than his predecessor.

Barber or not, Pete was a nails closer. Going to take more than a chair to get recruiting back on trackQuietcowskee said:I think the “barbershop” is a space of sanctuary and conviviality within the urban community.
