Mitch is an idiot but that's not my point. He's getting shit from all the usual suspects

Its just that seeing this old saw brushed off after the unprecedented cooperation by the democrats with Trump is retarded

I recall the Democrats intentionally not passing a Covid relief bill, along with refusing to work on an infrastructure bill, and filibustering Tim Scott's police reform bill all because they didn't want to give Trump a legislative victory.

Trump offered a Dreamer deal early on. Democrats didn't even negotiate

It's only bad when Republicans try to defeat Rat Presidents. At least we're spared the bullshit about how "racism" is what's behind the Republican opposition to Biden.

Why in the world would any minority party negotiate with the majority party? The playbook of "block the governing power and blame them in the next cycle for inaction" has proven immensely successful for well over a decade now.

Actually, that had nothing to do with the 2020 election. It was the chi com crud and the BLM/antifa riots that got suburban moms scared and instead of standing up for their kids future, they thought they could appease the commies. The suburban kids in southwest Portland had lots of pro BLM gatherings.

Yep, a couple of middle aged white women, in my neighborhood have been holding and organizing a pro-BLM rally every week since last year. The numbers have started to dwindle but they are still out there rain or shine encouraging people to honk and support "Black Lives Matter" as they drive up and down the main-drag of the neighborhood. When they were drawing their biggest crowds it was easily 95% white folks.

Tip and Reagan worked together. Clinton and Newt worked together and we got good results. It wasn't a love fest and both sides had to compromise but shit got done. Whether we need to get shit done is another debate.

Seems to have taken a turn for the worse with the post 911 popularity bump for W. Haven't seen much cooperation since.

Mitch did in fact say the same thing at the start of the Obama term.

Some things are best left unsaid. The democrats didn't have to say they were actively working for Trump to fail. The actions said it all

Tip and Reagan worked together because the Reagan landslide in 1980 scared the sh*t out of the dems. Hell, even Ted the Swimmer voted for the Reagan tax cuts, then spent decades railing against them. Same with bubba and Newt. The huge republican landslide in 1994 scared bubba into signing welfare reform. The dems never supported tax cuts or welfare reform and had no interest in getting anything done just doing so to survive.

The republicans didn't "cooperate" on obamacare because the dems didn't need a single republican vote. Even McConnell realized that obamacare would be unpopular and they took back the House. Today, there may be only one moderate dem in the Congress and that might be Manchin from West Virginia. We will see. Packing the court, unconstitutional gun laws and turning DC into a state aren't issues that any republican should "cooperate" on.

Mitch did two things- not cave on Obamacare and not putting Garland up and we can all be thankful for it

The GOP isn't in the clear on the Trump agenda by the way, They were scared shitless by Mueller. Idiots

McConnell didn't make that statement at the start of Obama's 1st term. He said it right before the mid-terms in 2010. The left has intentionally muddied the waters on this in order claim that McConnell was some kind of racist who never wanted to work with Obama.

Soft headed people like the suburban moms and NeverTrumpers are persuaded by language and not actual policies. Working together and cooperation have no real meaning. Republicans had tons of bills during barry's term that got stacked up in either the House or the Senate by Schumer or Stretch. But the MSM carries the water for the dems and if they hang up the Republican Covid relief bill, that's never mentioned. But if republicans balks at an $2 trillion "infrastructure" bill that has less than $200 billion of actual infrastructure, then the MSM hammers the message that republicans aren't cooperating and that they don't want roads and bridges. Getting something done is also a meaningless concept. The actual concept is what is getting done. Spending trillions by printing money is getting something done alright.

Compare the number of times the MSM called Republicans "obstructionists" during the Obama years to the number of times they called Rats obstructionists during the Trump years.

Hell the Rats openly declared themselves as part of the "resistance" before Trump was even sworn into office. Nobody in the media cared, they cheered them on.

Republicans are idiots. Just wait, next election cycle they will let the left moderate every one of the Presidential debates and every question asked will be from the left's perspective.

Hard to believe anyone nominated Garland for the Supreme Court. They think Clarence Thomas is bad? Fuck Me.

Garland doesn't stand for anything except which way the wind is blowing. What a fucking joke.

He might be an even worse AG than Eric Holder, and I didn't think that was possible.
