Chickenhawk Biden Update: US open to sending troops into Iraq

I had predicted new wars by summer but didn’t expect it this soon.

Halliburton, Raytheon, and the rest of the war machine needs some contracts right now from the Big Guy.

US signals it is open to sending more troops to support NATO's mission in Iraq

(CNN) The Pentagon opened the door to the possibility of sending more American troops to the Middle East as part of a newly expanded NATO training mission to support Iraqi forces and ensure that ISIS does not rise again.

"The US is participating in the force generation process for NATO Mission Iraq and will contribute its fair share to this important expanded mission," Pentagon spokesperson Cmdr. Jessica L. McNulty told CNN. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke about the mission with his NATO counterparts during a meeting with defense ministers on Thursday.

He didn’t have to run on it. He ran on returning competence to the White House and in foreign affairs. Active membership in global organizations such as NATO among others is part of that deal. It’s what was voted for and again, most of us wanted to happen.

The real test of a foreign policy isn't whether the proponent went to Vietnam. We saw a Presidential candidate who fought there, and you girls smeared him.

Edit: And Duck is right, you hated McCain too.

Since when did tighty righties have a problem with politicians using privilege to get out of going to war. McCain was the last actual war veteran who embraced that role in the Republican Party and you all hated him.

You Rats sure treated McCain with respect in 2008

Sunday, for instance, a group called Brave New PAC put up an ad on MSNBC and CNN. It features Phillip Butler, a former Navy pilot, Vietnam prisoner of war and contemporary of McCain's at the Naval Academy and in the POW camps.

The ad aims at the core of McCain's image — his reputation as a POW and Vietnam War hero.

"He would blow up and go off like a Roman candle. John McCain is not somebody that I would like to see with his finger near the red button," Butler says in the ad.

Madam, I've never had anything but respect for John McCain's and John Kerry's service. Ironically, you raised the topic of hypocrisy. Got self-awareness?

Joe doesn’t even want our own oil. Troops will go into Iraq again for one reason. Military contracts for Biden’s biggest donors. Troops don’t arm, feed, and shelter themselves on their own.

Did you have a problem with the former guy increasing the military budget? I don’t like or agree with our reliance on our military industrial complex to keep our economy, even our country as a whole, afloat. But to pretend that Biden is somehow the first or the worst president engaging in this time-honored tradition is pure self-delusion. The former guy did it too, and praised himself when he did.
