What's a better way to be? Like GWBush or like Trump?

Just heard W eulogizing John Lewis at the funeral today. During Bush's Presidency Lewis routinely called him a racist or accused him of sending racist dog whistles to his supporters. Lewis had no problem with the NAACP using the death of James Byrd to smear Bush as being somewhat complicit in Byrd's death.

Is it better to be like Bush or is it better to be like Trump?

I think what Bush is doing is fine and is consistent with who he is

I also think Trump would have spoke if he hadn't been told to keep Lewis' name out of his mouth

But where we are at today - be like Trump. This is a fight to the finish

When do you go from being "classy" to being a sap? I agree that it's a good look for Bush who is a Christian to put all of that aside and eulogize Lewis, but damn, Lewis was a very divisive, partisan and yes racist piece of shit during his years in Congress.

Lewis got the shit kicked out of him by white Democrats in Selma and to “fight back” spent the next 60 years as a paid-for politician whose job it was to help keep those same white Democrats in power by inflaming racial tensions and blaming Republicans.

The ultimate sell-out Uncle Tom, but paid well to go against what he supposedly was marching for in Selma. A man on no principles.
