NYT - 20% of NYC already infected with antibodies

thechatchthechatch Member Posts: 6,444
According to Cuomo

Tested 3,000 supermarket customers

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/23/nyre ... pdate.html

It means 1.7 million infected in NYC and 2.6 in the state.

Fatality rate around 0.5 according to Dr. Cuomo.

Lotsa evidence building that this virus is much wider spread than we thought at this point and less fatal than thought.

Time for Inslee to stop being such a useless pussy.

HH you’re free to continue hiding under your bed, if you’re scared.

yeah I don't know how we should handle this. It's so widespread that waiting for the "curve" to go down seems hard to actually imagine unless you wait for a longer period of time than Americans will be willing. Specific things like restaurants, theatres, spas, etc. should definitely stay closed to ensure that the healthcare system isn't overwhelmed, teleworking should still be encouraged. But I'm not sure that pouring sand into skate parks, and closing golf courses is really helping.

Find a way to protect care centers, and the more vulnerable communities and start to open.

It hit here first. Direct from Wuhan. I’d like to see King County’s IR rate, with regard to antigen testing. I bet we are well above 21%, even with the drastic shelter in place orders from Governor Cunt Face.

Can you name anyone who didn't know that the fatality rate would decline with more testing?

14% or 20%? Regardless, not even one-third of the way to herd immunity.

UW just started testing this week. I assume we'll get results soon.

20% is exactly 1/3 of the way toward herd immunity.

That's incorrect. But regardless, do your part and catch the damn thing.

The fact that the virus isn’t nearly as deadly nor warrants 30% unemployment pisses off HHusky.

We can't all find the pandemic as funny as you do, Mike.

It’s actually not incorrect, according to the former dean of microbiology at a fairly well-respected college, who happens to be sitting next to me.

I’m aware. I started the thread on it.

Lowest figure I've seen is 62%. Highest is about 70%.

If we are to believe what they tell us, that the R0 is high and that shelter in place is effective, then it must be widespread.

That will depend on a variety of factors, 60% is typically the benchmark.
