It's hard to judge Cristobal's skills or lack thereof when he continues to employ an asshat as OC. Cristobal is too chummy with his old friends and wants to give them jerbs, he needs to cut ties with these incompetent lackeys. Arroyo should have been fired at the end of last season. I told you the gut could recruit. I gave you evidence. Now I don't hear that one anymore.
I told you the guy is trying (that's the operative word) to build a program based on commitment to the running game and physicality. Not as obvious as his recruiting success, but it is starting to show ... inconsistently, but it's there to see.
I thought I saw a semblance of a disciplined program after a year of drastic improvement in the areas of penalty and discipline. So far, that seems to be holding.
The guy walked into about as shitty a situation as you can get and has improved Oregon almost across the board. Nobody should have wanted to sign with them when he took over and he has managed to get kids to come play for him. They certainly looked like shit on the road a few times last year, but overall they were a better team than the year before.
He may have reached his ceiling. I really don't know. My only point has been that neither does doog nation.
If I were Oregon, I wouldn't be thinking to fire him just now.
