    Godfather I/II
    Zulu
    Silence of the Lambs
    40 Year Old Virgin
    Aliens
    The Unforgiven
    28 Days Later
    Full Metal Jacket
    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Arrival

    list subject to change

This is just taking a pulse and not binding. I could very easily have put Raiders and Silence in my top 10. Zulu is one of the best epic war films ever. Right there with Lawrence IMHO.

Zulu is fucking awesome. Problem is that is definitely dated, particularly the pacing and 'special' effects. It took my boys a couple tried to get it, but when the finally did, they love it.

Most of my list are the ones that if I see them on the Dish guide, no matter what time of night or where the movie is when I find, I'm watching and can't turn it off.

Agree. "Pacing" is the biggest drawback of Zulu. It's from a different era of film making in this respeck.

But this is arguably one of the greatest battle scenes of all tim. Notice the bolt action in the lower right corner. They must have had a shortage of Martini-Henry rifles for the production.

This was the actual rifle used at Rourke's Drift...

Not necessarily the “best” but the ones I rewatch the most:

    Godfather I/II
    Superbad
    The Dark Knight
    LOTR Return of the King
    The Wolf of Wall St
    Inglorious Bastards
    The Social Network
    Tropic Thunder
    Bourne Ultimatum

My main criteria was which 10 I quote the most, not necessarily "the best".

    LOTR The Two Towers
Master and Commander (because as a sailor I'm into rum, sodomy and the lash)

And it I think most captures the spirit of how shitty life was as a Sailor back then. Horrific. I'd rather be shelled in a foxhole then broadsided from the gun decks. Jesus that took balls you would have to haul around in a wheelbarrow to hold your nerve for that shit.

I didn't expect you all to have as good a taste in movies as me. Well done. I'm not adding raiders to my list but it would make my top 11.
