So how bad has it gotten on campus?

Of the 20 “intentionally broken academic papers” written by the trio, seven were accepted and published in academic journals -- the same journals that students are encouraged to consult when writing papers of their own. Another seven of the 20 were rejected, with the rest pending review before the ruse was uncovered.
Helen Pluckrose, James Lindsay, and Portland State University professor Peter Boghossian documented and announced their hoax project in an interview with The New York Times in October 2018.
Since then, their work uncovering the errs of academic research has garnered praise and support from thousands of students, academics, and other individuals across the world.
The trio refers to their project as an analysis of “grievance studies,” which encompasses a variety of fields within the humanities, such as LGBT, women, and gender studies. The group’s suspicion going into the project was that certain fields in academia have become more focused on “ideologically-motivated scholarship” rather than the pursuit of fact.

Political influence in research is nothing new. The idea that peer reviewed research conducted at universities is somehow pure and devoid of such influence is beyond naive. However, the most alarming change over the past 20 years or so is the overwhelming influence of social justice warriors in the system. There is no doubt that the result has been nonsensical ideologically-motivated scholarship rather than the pursuit of fact. The long term implications of this are not good.

I don't think anyone is naive on the influence of $'s for research and pre-determined results on campus. What I find outrageous is that one who whistle blows the practice of social justice outcome is being prosecuted.
90%+ of research "polling" is paid for by an entity that is biased. If the polling company does not give that biased organization the information they deem "correct" there will be no more money coming from that biased entity. You will find that democrats use a pool of polling operations that are highly suspect. They do this because the operation will give them the outcome they are looking for and will in some cases even co-publish the results.
I have paid for efficacy trials, research and conclusions, for fungicides that my chemist invented. I could have easily manipulated the outcome like the big boys do but I was paying the minimum for the research and thus I had to live with the results.
No one is naive on the influence of politics and money but when you start killing the whistle blowers especially in public institutions like PSU and there is little the victim can do about it because that world is dominated by liberals, we have a problem. Then you have the even more important issue of campus liberals dumbing down the students. -
Still lots of chicks who are DTF

Two accepted & published papers were titled: "The conceptual penis as a social construct," and "Human Reactions to Rape Culture and Queer Performativity at the Dog Park."
And Bernie and AOC want everyone to go to college for free. Bad idea? Or worst idea ever? -

Most of the crap they publish is effectively useless regardless of political motivation. I'm actually not a socialist leftist. Hating Trump is mere sanity.

Half of the results in psychology are unreproducible. Look up the tests.
