We're actually over 40 if you use the 247 rankings instead of composite. Mele, Jackson Sirmon, and Cam Williams (as well as Rapp) are all 4* on 247 but 3* in composite. So that puts us at 41 with possibly 2-3 more 4* guys to add.
SB Nation tracks the blue chip ratio (4/5 star divided by total scholarships) and this season there were 13 teams that were over 50%. We are right on the cusp right now and should hit that threshold if we close well.

A few more that you don't have listed...
Isaiah Gilchrist
Matteo Mele (247 only)
Jackson Sirmon (247 only)
Cameron Williams (247 only)

Gilchrist must be at least considering couch appraisal.HuskyClaws said:A few more that you don't have listed...

Oh yeah, I forgot about Gilchrist too. That puts us at 42 blue chips for 2019, assuming Murphy and Rapp leave.HuskyClaws said:A few more that you don't have listed...

Yes, I went with composite vs 247 only. I was pumped about being over 40 with composite. This means we're really cooking with gas and half the roster will be 4/5 stars. I don't care how good of a coach we have - and I think Pete is Top 5 - but you can't beat Bama, Clempson, Ohio St, etc, or whomever you'd face in the CFP without getting top 10- 15 type talent which is what 50% blue chips equates to. You can make the CFP with top 20- 30 talent as we and other teams like MSU and Oregon have demonstrated, but it's just not enough to get over the hump. 2020 and 2021 are gonna be speshial!! 2019 is year 6 of Petermen. Remember Dabo sucks and took 8.5 to get his Tier II school, non blue blood Natty.insinceredawg said:We're actually over 40 if you use the 247 rankings instead of composite. Bump. So with closing 14 four/five stars, we should be at 41 "in progress" based on 241 Composite. And a little higher than this based on 241 alone.
