IMO it’s largely due to Ahmed being worse than Sean mcgrew in pass protection, especially against a blitz heavy team.
But also due to shit play calling by bushy.
OL has no idea how to actually block during a RB screen
RB swing pass into the flat is covered because the LBers NEVER have to care about the TE in the middle or WR slant attacking 5-10 yards in the middle of the field they can just free sprint to the RB.
If Ahmed is in the game just blitz, either UW will run into the blitz and gain nothing, Ahmed will fail at pass protection and give up a sack or pick six to a DL, or Ahmed will go out for a swing pass where your LBers or S can freely flow to the action/motion because WE never attack the vacated LB space in the middle of the field.
People are talking about the difference between Smiff and Bush.Houhusky said:IMO it’s largely due to Ahmed being worse than Sean mcgrew in pass protection, especially against a blitz heavy team.

Mcgrew looked like shit in pass pro too from the play I remember. He went to the wrong gap, ended up pushing into the left tackle and guard's asses, and allowed free rushers at the qb.Houhusky said:IMO it’s largely due to Ahmed being worse than Sean mcgrew in pass protection, especially against a blitz heavy team.
