The final round of 32 matchup in the Outlaws & Outsiders could produce the closest matchup in the region.
Alabama
One of the themes that comes out of the portion of the bracket dominated by the 60s and 70s was that of it consisting of solo artists with a notable exception of the supergroup The Highwaymen consisting of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson. Alabama really was the first group to not only make a dent in the Country music landscape, but came to dominate it over a 10-15 year period. Their awards are numerous and the definition of pioneering outsiders by changing the game.

Hank Williams Jr
Everybody on this board knows Hank Jr as not only the son of Hank Sr, but as the voice of the Monday Night Football open for so many years. It can be a challenge to follow in the footsteps of a famous relative and Hank Jr had many struggles along the way. However, upon finding his niche, he changed Country music by challenging the very fabric of the music by combining rock and blues elements into his work.

It shouldn't be that close IMHO but this is an early test in terms of how much of this bored like 70's outlaw country as opposed to the 80's and beyond.Tequilla said:I expect this battle to be fairly close
