Who were the breakout players at UW in 2017? Who do you expect to emerge in 2018?

Most years under Pete yields several upperclassmen who.gif players who ball out unexpectedly. Was last year an outlier? Who really elevated their game? 2016 had breakout players everywhere (Pettis, Mathis, Vea,). 2017 had...Jordan Miller?

Hope Benning and Tryon step up this year. Likewise some of the WRs.

I think browning stepped up to the point that the new OC has to trust him with the ball a bit more than he typically would let the QB throw it.

Rather than risk a small or no gain from Gaskin your OC would be wise to just let Browning go out and rip it.

Because brownings been really feeling the whole field, the slow developing, long routes are really where the money is at.
A guy as cool as Jake can let his receivers get where they need to be while shrugging off the pressure and deliver like clockwork.

I keep thinking Myles Rice is going to be the next Donald Jones. I'll say him but this is the last year I'll do it.

has he looked good? he had good first step until he blew a wheel

Prayingdoog.gif that he abuses Auburn's new starters and gets us? the heat on the edge this defense needs to take the next step.

I hear mixed reviews. I just remember thinking he could be another Bruce Irvin from the first time I saw him run drills

Someone among the OLBs will emerge. I like Tryon the best but that's really based on his size and my memory of how he looked as a prospect. I don't care if it's Rice, Williams or Potoae.

A couple of young receivers will emerge. I don't expect someone to explode with 50+ catches, but I think a couple will get 30+.

I also think one of the true frosh DTs will stand out by the end of the season. There's only one experienced nose on the roster so those guys will get their chance.

Dissly was a bigtime breakout player last year IMO. He might have done the Quincy Pondexter start-to-breakout-towards-the-end-of-his-junior-year thing but I would have laughed you off the boreds this time last year if you told me he was going to go in the top half of the draft.

This year my hope is Brown Potatoes. IMO he could be the most make or break player on the team outside of maybe kicker and Browning.

If Benning breaks out we could be really hard to beat.

Dissly was a dominating blocker his junior year. We (I especially) loved him and Sample in the game together and remember watching Grundle gifs of them dominating.

I don't think Benning's horrible. He's okay. He's not going to break out though. Bowman getting 10+ sacks is more likely.

Ahmed is going to be a lot better this year. It seems there is a bunch of bullshit being spouted about him not having vision, etc. His speed and ability to cut without slowing down is elite. We're going to see quite a few big plays from him.

Nobody thought Bryce Love was on McCaffrey's level until he got the chance. I suspect the same is true with Gaskin and Ahmed.

Problem he is being compared to gaskin who has amazing vision. Other than that his vision is fine.
