When yung DNC was first becoming aware of the rap game Snoop was behind bars. FREE SNOOP was the first FREE (INSERT RAPPER HERE) movement I remember. Obviously he first made his name on The Chronic but that dropped before I was really paying attention. Doggystyle dropped before I was paying attention but by the time I came around to the game it was still dominating the airwaves. It has be on the short list of greatest rap albums in history. Who Am I?, Lodi Dodi (Slick Rick cover, but still), Murder Was the Case and Gin and Juice are as strong a set of singles as any album ever, and they had great videos to go with them.
As with so many other, he could never recapture the magic of his opening album, perhaps primarily thanks to Suge Knight being an asshole and Dre peacing out from Death Row. A member of 213, and key collaborator with The Dogg Pound and of course Dre, Snoop has appearances on a huge variety of artist's albums. Snoop has been the ultimate rap mercenary, playing Lollapalooza with a bunch of alternative rock bands, joining No Limit (FUCK!), changing his name to Snoop Lion, swearing off weed, becoming a Muslim, converting to rastafarianism, baking with Martha Stewart. Fuck, if dude's not an attention whore, but we love him for it. Snoop can do no wrong. There's something soothing about his smooth voice and soft vocals - even at his gangsta heights Snoop always comes off as the dude you'd most want to party with, so his street cred remains secure no matter what.

Better known as a producer, Tim's beats probably got more airplay than any producer in the 00's. He's probably produced more pop shit than rap though. Famously tight with Timberlake and Nelly Furtado, Timbaland's done shit with everyone from Rihanna to Ginuwine to Katy Perry to Usher to One Republic. His most popular stuff probably isn't even in the rap genre.
Specific to rap he gets big credit for his shit with Aaliyah and Missy Elliott, and of course his long term collaboration with Magoo, and he's produced everyone from Hova to Nas to Luda to Petey Pablo. It was impossible to turn on the radio to rap, R&B or pop for about 15 years without hearing a Tim beat.
As purely a rapper? Tim's bass vocals are instantly recognizable, but like everything he does they are heavily produced. Not my style, but there's no question dude can sell a record.

That being said, Snoop is an OG and if he's not at least in the Sweet 16 this bored really needs to take a long walk and get some perspective.
