In 2012 Roosevelt (kingco #4) beat Wesco #1 Jackson. Glacier Peak wesco #1 had to come back in the fourth quarter to beat a shitty Ballard (metro #3) team. Wesco hasn't won a state title since 91, and hasn't had a state runner up since 1998. Ballard is the most recent city team to be runner up. Shit is cyclical. Metro has to contend with private schools just to get to the playoffs and seeding for the playoffs. I'm not contending that Metro pubs are fantastic, but compared to the rest of the state they are pretty on par. Lets pop a few more private schools in snohomish county and see how well wesco pubs hold up.

Dude. You're missing the point. Metro football sucks because nobody turns out for it and the schools are becoming more and more nerdy and SJW oriented where a "violent" sport like Football is frowned upon and maligned in an increasingly soft city - especially in the faggier than shit Mike O'Brien/Rob Johnson areas of the North End. Roady thinks coaching is predominantly to blame, but it's irrelevant when only 30 to 35 kids are turning out. If any Metro public wants to build a competitive football program, they'll have a lot of gray-haired, protester-hippy parents to overcome and a cultural sea-change will have to occur with the exception of perhaps RB - where they still love sports - maybe West Seattle, and maybe Garfield. Cleveland STEM is now Nerd Central and Franklin is not far behind. (Sorry DNC). Long term, Hale will rule over Roosevelt because of how the neighborhoods are changing - and fast. No yards in Roosevelt for a Dad and a kid to throw the ball in, anymore, and Dad will be too old, too feeble, can't throw a spiral, and is married to an SJW like that one thrown off the plane in Baltimore or wherever. 2012 is ancient history, dude.

This is fucking stupid, the demographics of the students that go to Roosevelt and Hale are essentially the same. The reason Seattle Metro football sucks has everything to do with lack of successful youth programs. As someone said earlier the Lake City Braves provides football players for about 5-6 high schools while a school like Bothell or Bellevue gets a giant pipeline with their youth programs because all of the kids in those youth programs go to those schools. If the Seattle metro schools had feeder programs like the suburb schools they would be just as good.

Can we all be in agreement that this team needs a few "Tre'shauns"

Enough fucking Isaiahs, Myleses, Jordans, Elijahs and Jacobs.

I was really hoping we would get a visit from Markeviest Bryant just so we could talk about someone with a decent name for a change.

    Thank god for Salvon.

Feeder programs are crucial. I don't think Turd is entirely wrong about football dying in Seattle. Foosball has always been more of a country folk, suburb game and I think is becoming more and more true, especially in Seattle.

I guess my argument to that would be my first hand experience of watching my friends at Roosevelt and Hale go out for freshman football. They would get fifty plus kids but the combination of not playing football before, getting destroyed by the suburb schools, and poor coaching leads a majority of the kids including some of the most talented to quit. However I realize this is just my narrow observation.

Well, no they aren't. Ask any *honest* parent from either school and they'll tell you you're dreaming. But that's not the point. This debate originated with the discussion about Metro's lackluster rate of competition against a kid like Tre'Shaun and why Metro can't muster decent teams besides the Catholic schools.

On your closing point, with the demographic shifts, population increase, minority families being uprooted from Rainer Valley from gentrification, youth leagues will be harder and harder to operate. And the other point I made is how many of those kids get recruited away from Garfield and Franklin to EC or O'D. Garfield has some decent talent, like this kid, but still got plungered by Lynnwood - the weakest team in the Edmonds district, and sometimes the only win on either Shoreline schools' schedule. Football at Metro's pubs are down, and many of those Pee-Wee families are setting up shop in Renton and Kent, as they have been for awhile already. And which no doubt pleases DDY, Kent's TBSr in residence.

So, I wouldn't disagree with your final point, but as I said to Roady, I don't see it happening in these times.

He's not a difference maker. Good athlete
but there are better options at safety and
RB. If as rumored he wants to play receiver
then that is a non starter too as we are stocked
in that spot. Only downside to him not coming
is if he has a relationship with Savell Smalls.
If Harrison not coming in any way lessens the
chance of Savell going elsewhere then that is
a problem that will have to be overcome.
We don't want another Foster Sarell situation
    two years from now.

The most important thing to these people is to lower standards to avoid disappointment. At all costs.

Instead of rooting for signing 5-stars, they say their 2-stars are just as good! Instead of being critical of the coaches, they say 'you try it! it's not so easy' (same for players, although I NEVER bash the players). Instead of saying 'Oregon won' it's 'Oregon cheated'.

They become more obsessed with their hated CHEATING rivals than themselves, because (as a product of lowering standards) they become obsessed with their CHEATING rivals and they want standards to be brought down to their level. Everything else becomes UNFAIR!

Doogs these days HATE Oregon (I don't) and view them as our MAIN RIVAL (how?). They apologize for the Cuogs (this is because they intuitively know the Cuogs use their logic, so they don't hate the Cuogs and their low standards like they should).

They loved Sark because he was the ultimate Doog coach: there are no real standards, but we know he's better than Ty. He let them keep their low standards and hatred of everything with high standards while winning some and providing excitement. Doogs love excitement because they are dumb.

This is why Doogs don't like Pete very much: he ruins all their narratives. This is why Doogs have to credit Sark for SOME of Pete's success (even though it's obvious he contributed nothing to it).

Doogs HATE Ty (although they loved him when he was here until '08) because they can't figure out it was already fucked under Gilby and they want to blame an outsider (Doogs are dumb like that).

Doogs ended up hating Neuheisel because they could blame another outsider (I hate Neu, too).

Doogs are people who instead of wanting greatness, prefer mediocrity because they are unsure greatness is achievable and it hurts them to admit it. They become bitter because they lack confidence in general about the world. And they should all be shot. Along with Cuogs.

This is crazy and insane ... look around. Just because the best team starts in Washington are in more affluent areas and same with Orange County, they don't extrapolate to the rest of the country.

For example, I don't think anybody would claim that Grant in Sacramento is overly affluent ... or the same with most DFW and Houston area schools.

What you are speaking to is more local culture driven as well as funding/coaching availability.
