    The head coach is the closer. The assistants generally recruit by area not their coaching duties

    Then why do we land every DB and none of our targeted QBs or OL?

    Why could we not get a sniff from a single WR target when Pease was our coach yet we lock up three of our top guys by May with the Bush?

    Blame the head coach but not for "closing" blame him for not hiring the right assistants.
