And per Wikipedia, while he was in college:
"While at the University of Chicago, Sanders joined the Young People's Socialist League, the youth affiliate of the Socialist Party of America, and was active in the Civil Rights Movement as a student organizer for the Congress of Racial Equality and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee."

At least that's what I'm hearing. Is wiki (aka hondo's news source) lying to him?HFNY said:The devil is in the details. Since Bern has never worked in the private sector or run his own business, it makes total sense that he thinks businesses can handle greater tax increases, far beyond what Obama did:

Sounds like Sanders plan is a demotivator for one to work:

C) For some, At all. -
I don't know why you guys are upset about everything being free. Such a simple solution. Don't know why we didn't think of it earlier.

Higher taxes or insurance premiums. Real question is which is more of a burden. Considering the US spends roughly twice as much per capita on healthcare as every other western country, I'm guessing the status quo isn't the answer.

Long story but when I walked away from my old job a few years ago I walked away from insurance. Haven't bought it since. That used to be my choice, maybe will be again someday. Never have a choice on taxes, Have to pay them.
Now insurance is monitored by the IRS and you pay for not having it. Agree that the status quo sucks. -
So you are saying that when you die of aids, you are fine with me not having the choice to pay for your medicine?RaceBannon said:Long story but when I walked away from my old job a few years ago I walked away from insurance. And I found an economist that said Bernie will pretty much give us the best economy we've ever seen. Big whoop.

I can feel the liberal compassion from here folks. What's the difference if I sign up for free healthcare? At least this way you only have to pay if I need it.
Next you'll tell me what I can smoke or eat -

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compassionate_conservatismconservatism
Compassionate conservatism is a political philosophy that stresses using traditionally conservative techniques and concepts in order to improve the general welfare of society. The term itself is often credited to U.S. historian and politician Doug Wead, who used it as the title of a speech in 1979, although its origins lie in paternalism.[1] This label and philosophy has been espoused by U.S. Republican and Democratic politicians since then though in recent times it has been strongly associated with former U.S. President George W. Bush, who commonly used the term to describe his personal views.[1] This philosophy has also been espoused in the United Kingdom by British Prime Minister David Cameron. -
More people should smoke and do drugs. We can keep healthcare costs down by ending any form of subsidized health coverage, while eliminating all sin taxes and legalizing all drugs.
