Why young lineman will be fine playing early
For the first time in ages UW has a real S&C program. Kohler, Riva, etc would have been better off under Socha.
Socha earned a degree in kinesiology and a masters degree in exercise physiology. He was an OL in college. After that he spent his time in the weight room as an assistant S&C coach and then the head S&C coach. He's in his 10th year as head S&C coach.
Ivan's degrees were in education and leadership studies. He spent a lot of time as an assistant S&C coach but UW was his first time being the head S&C coach.
With Socha, I don't think we need to be worried about Adams and other guys playing early. If they get hurt they will have a S&C coach who can rehab and develop them properly. Socha is far superior to Ivan. He played (Ivan didn't), he studied the subject (Ivan didn't) and he has a lot more experience.

sorry chest, i love you, but strongly disagree.
Not saying you are wrong, or right, don't twist!
I freak out one time over the Sarell kid and now I am labeled. I am pretty bad but I nominate DDY's "Kill everyone" breakdowns in the game threads as biggest freak out poster. Hahaha.
He's built for this shit. And he's really good and I don't think it's typical undeserving hype. He's not wishing he wasn't 300 pounds and dreaming of catching some sick waves like Kohler.
Run block not so much, especially in zone blocking schemes. That's basically fire out and maul anyone that comes across your face mask.
The best linemen tend to be the whack-jobs.
Irregardless, it's a mute point.
