California: Massive Layoffs of Americans Replaced With Foreigners

I have a friend who's 65 and works for minimum wage at a 7/11. He got laid off and replaced with an illegal alien willing to kickback a big part of his salary to his boss. So much for dreams of $15 an hour.

In California, massive layoffs are being spearheaded by multi-billion dollar Southern California Edison, which is terminating scores of American workers and replacing them with immigrants willing to work for less. But don't worry. There aren't hardly any foreigners in Seattle, are there?

First of all, why didn't your friend report both the 7-11 owner and the new employee to INS?

Second, even if the new employee was legal, this practice is illegal on so many fronts, kind of hard to get away with it, once reported.

Third, if a business owner has to get a kick back on a minimum wage employee salary to stay afloat, that business isn't going to last much longer.

Fourth, there's a new Walmart being built every 15 seconds or so. Why doesn't he apply there for the same pay, instead of having to spend his day being harrassed at the cash register, and having to clean the slurpee machine?
